GREAT SELLER ALERT - CHRIS HUTCHINS

North Carolina and all I can say is..."WOW!" and "Boy, don't I wish I
had gone to look at his TZ and ToM before he sold them!"
Chris is a high-end auto-body guy by trade, and his skilled hand truly
shows through in every aspect of his pin restorations. To the casual
observer, the most obvious impact Chris has on a pin is his phenomenal
clear-coating job...My wife even acknowledged the beauty of his
clear-coating (even though she didn't really know what made it look
"So NICE!"). By virtue of his years of auto-body work, Chris clearly
understands the nuances of good/bad clear-coating jobs, but I'm sure
that even the most educated of buyers would be captivated to hear
Chris talk passionately about the subtleties of clear-coating a pin.
This guy is SERIOUS about his pinball restoration hobby, and, while
the clear-coating is amazing by itself, his attention to details and
his passion for "getting it right" is where the real beauty of his
restoration work shows. Chris's meticulous attention to detail,
documented more extensively by some other RGP posts, is enough to
satisfy even the most nit-picky of collectors.
To put it simply, Chris's self-effacing description of a "shop job"
is, in actuality, taking pinball restoration to a whole new
level...and, on top of that, he's a great guy to boot! When I pulled
out of his driveway with that TOTAN, all I could think was "Finally,
I've found a guy who leaves no stones unturned...and he's right in my
back yard! I wonder when I can get him to do my CV..no, wait..my TZ
first, yeah! and then my TAF and STTNG!"
In short, when you think of a Chris Hutchins' pin, it's not
exaggerating to expect a machine that's been cleaned and restored ala
TreasureCove (sans toppers and plunger mods) and clear-coated ala Bill
Davis (sans the wait)...all for a VERY reasonable price. It's for all
these reasons that Chris's handiwork is now so very well-known in the
Charlotte pinball circles...I can easily think of at least 4 other
substantial local collectors who I KNOW rave publicly about his work
(just Google search his name!)...and at least one of those (you know
who you are) NEVER raves about anything that's not an HUO machine!
Those of us locals who've gotten a taste of the Hutchins restoration
treatment are lining up quickly to get all of our machines done before
word gets out too broadly...and we're just crossing our fingers that
when Chris assumes his rightful place alongside the other
premium-priced restorers and clear-coaters that he'll remember those
of us who "knew him when..."

Thanks for the compliments.I found Brian to be very easy to deal with
as well as very knowledgable.It feels good to sell to someone that can
fully understand what is involved in taking a game to the next
level.Pretty much anyone can take a playfield out,send it off or clear
coat it themselves and slap it back together.I am glad that you are
able to see past that.

B*O*P, NOS F*14, and I bought his clearcoated T*O*M. I sold it because I
think the game's software sucks, but what a stellar example of that game.
