Not taking sides, but wow that is a bummer. Another legacy vendor not
making the big show. I hope it can be worked out.

Someday he will.. This is NO way to treat anyone. I have NEVER
encouaged a person not to come to that show. I just shared questions
about new procedures. He dont have the decency to answer them here
or call me back... NO WAY TO DO BUSSINESS.. He has TOLD others
there isan outside flea market WHY not here??

“Someday he will..”
Doubtful!

“This is NO way to treat anyone.”
You’re right unless one works really hard at it.

“ I have NEVER encouaged a person not to come to that show. I just
shared questions “about new procedures. “
Negative comments would be more accurate.

“He dont have the decency to answer them here or call me back...”
Well, we’re running a pretty demanding show. Its not something we’d do
in our sleep! Entertaining your needs is not our focus for future
reference.

“NO WAY TO DO BUSSINESS.. He has TOLD others
there isan outside flea market WHY not here??”
You did it for me two months ago. The response was fine, thank you.

But what of the private emails you shared with my staff and friends?
Can I have your permission to cut and paste those for all since we’re
in a sharing mood? Did you really think these would not be brought to
my attention? Not how I’d encourage change. I certainly wouldn't tell
you how to run your show (Is this really an accurate statement?)

If you really thought you could bully this show than think again.

You dug your own hole, worn out the welcome and will be street side as
far as security and I our concerned. I pay them pretty well so I have
their attention.

You’ve played your cards and now its Time to face the facts!

You’ve been PAYSACKED by Pinfest, get over it and spare the gas.
You’ll need to find another way to make the rent this month.

And if somehow this all still escapes you I’ll spell it out so YOU
understand “yOU Ain,T WeLCOme!

Are we clear?

It's a shame if such a great show is destroyed because someone's
personal issues take so much precedence over everything else.

Because Pacak wants to know, no official statement can be made in
public regarding the flea market details. If you want to know
anything, you apparently need to directly contact someone who has
already said he doesn't have time to answer every e-mail he gets.

I hope the show goes better than it sounds. But if Ivan thinks these
rants turn off only Mike and his closest friends and continues to have
this be the public face of the show, I think he'll be surprised as the
show declines in the next few years.

I made other plans a month ago because of the refusal to answer
questions about the flea market, but I'm sure others would still want
to know. But again Ivan said nothing so I guess those going will just
need to show up and hope for the best.

I really do hope the show goes well this weekend and that the
organizers can grow up a bit because I would really like to go to the
show again if it is anything close to what I have enjoyed in the past.

I have done business with both Mike and Ivan and find them to be
really great stand up guys, above and beyond.

This really sucks that they had an out.

The community is too small for guys as important to the hobby as these
guys are to have such disputes.

Hopefully they can reconcile if not for themselves, but for Pinball
and its community.

One question. Regardless his reason, if he really doesn't want you at
his show, why would you want to go? There are plenty of other shows to
make your mark at.

Have to agree here, why?

With Ivan's open post of you not being welcome is purely an open invite
to create a scene that would most likely end up being a complete
embarrassment for both parties involved.

Be the better man here and just walk away from this one.

Mike isn't exactly great at taking a hint. He mentions his PUBLIC behavior, but fails to address the emails that has others worked up. Anyone who has been at the wrong end of one of his rants knows exactly how crass he can be.

Mike should take the hint and not go to Atown, but he will because he is Mike. Some find him entertaining, some like him because he has things they want, but anyone who is not in it for the 'car crash' factor would rather just stay away. I usually walk away from him at Chicagoland when he starts in on one of his snorting fits of rage. He always seems to be ignorant of his past behavior.

Some people just don't want to be associated with that kind of BS. Atown seems to get it. I can't blame them.

This. Whatever caused this riff is not my business. I will be there,
bring my games for people to enjoy, and have a great time :)

Ivan has been more than helpful to me, and anytime I tried to buy
something from Mike or ask a question at a show, he acted as if I was a
waste of his time. The choice for me is easy.

I am sure there is ALOT more to this on both sides than what we know.
Honestly I feel the whole thing is unfortunate, but I thought he made it
clear a while ago he did not want you there. At that point, I would have
made other plans if I could.

Seems to me (just from what I am reading) that someone actually stood up
to the bully and not you are caught in a situation you have never been
in before (not getting your way).

Hope you guys can work out your differences.

I can answer that with pretty much 100% certainty. Because he has
deals with people and they involve making the transaction(s) during
the Allentown show.

He may or may not be welcome at the show by the organizer. But he may
still have deals. I have kept my opinions mostly to myself. But if
Ivan decides to act past his Pacak is not welcome and actually ban him
from attending the show will be very interesting. Cowboy fans may not
be welcome in Eagles stadium but they are not banned.

I agree with Steve Yates post. Well written.

This crap happens in every hobby.

I've found that if someone really annoys the tar out of me, I simply go
out of my way to avoid them. No loss to either party.
We tend to have the people we "like" and people we "dislike".
Banning someone from a public event seems chickenshit and unnecessary
where others can and will benefit from said person being there. Having
a heavy hand towards a targeted individual puts a foul odor on what we
love the most, our passion for entertainment and friendships...
Some tend to enjoy the drama, but to me it stinks. People tend to
spread the word about negative experiences instead of the positives
which leaves a black eye...

Don't tarnish the anticipated event, just stay away from each other?

I've never been to the Allentown show, but ever since I have been on rgp
(2001), there has ALWAYS been some drama surrounding this show...even with
the past organizers. What is up with this show (or organizers) that rubs
people the wrong way? Sheesh.

Well Allentown is close to Philadelphia, and if you have ever met any

I was half-convinced for a second that this thread was a ridiculous
story I created in my mind. But I shut down my machine, restarted, and
it's actually still here.

If it makes anyone feel better, Ivan hasn't emailed or reached out to me
either. But that's prob cuz I never contacted him for anything. But when
I get there, I'm gonna walk right up to him, face to face, and say.....
"Hi", or something along those lines. And he'd better reply with the
same, or something synonymous with it, else I'm gonna say something on
the internet about him that's not in his favor.

Just watch, I know how!

If either Ivan or Mike think that they are the "winner" in this and
"showed" the other guy, they are both really wrong. A business can't
survive dealing with only those customers that they like. Mike is a
customer, and like it or not, he is and has been a major player in the
hobby for decades. Yeah, he can be an acquired taste. But then again,
so can (insert pretty much any name here).

I hope it isn't lost on other customers, (vendors and attendees) how
Mike is being treated. Today Mike. Tomorrow, me? You?

I hope one or both of them get over whatever their issues are and
shake hands and apologize to each other and act like grown ups.

a lawyer.
I would be concerned if I were Mid Atlantic Replay, LLC or its

If it is an Open to the Public event, I would not want to go down that

There are lots of "personalities" here on RGP and in the pinball

I hope for everyone's sake, that the show in Allentown is great and

Mike generally doesn't ignore people, just has a lot going on all the
time. If the first ping attempt gets no reply, keep trying.. one will
get thru eventually :)

General advice for anyone (not specifically for anyone in this
thread): If you want to buys something from Mike, keep it simple..
tell 'im what you're looking for, and better yet make an offer at the
same time. I've seen people at his booths at shows browse, hem/haw
over his stock, ask to see a dozen flyers out of the bins, then try to
haggle on a $20 piece of paper. All that does is piss him off. Keep
it short and simple :) He always has way too much going on to act as
a typical storefront or seller. If you do things quick n easy, you
can generally get good deals. Just a public service announcement.

Just because it's 'open to the public' doesn't mean everyone has the
right to come regardless of other circumstances. Ivan's notified
security. If i were Mike, i'd just stay clear, if he has deals to make,
make them across the street. Ivan is a serious man, if he says
something, he means it. He's not going to let this slide. If Mike
shows up, there will be trouble.

Wasn't there a guy that pooped himself there last year while playing a
game in a tournament? Or was that at a different show as well? In any
event, if Mike does show up, it will make for another interesting year.
The question is, will Ivan just allow security to handle him, or will
Ivan himself serve Mike a big knuckle sandwich. Whichever is the case,
for anyone who is going, i'd have your cell phone cameras ready at a
moment's notice. Someone is going down this year.

You apparently still don't get it. Ivan stated in his last post you are
not welcome on premise at all, as a vendor or customer. You don't get
no soup, don't come back apparently and get in line, no soup for you.

Mike will show, could you imagine how big of a wimp he would look like
if he didn't show up, especially after bragging on here how he was going
to show up and stick it to Ivan and do as he pleases? And in the same
vein, Ivan needs to make sure Mike doesn't show up since he told
everyone on here he was not letting Mike in under any circumstances and
he has paid security to be on the lookout for him. If Mike manages to
squeak past Ivan and his security, it's going to make the show look like
it's poorly run with bad security, etc.

This is going to be a great show! I guess there are supposed to be some
pinball machines there too.

becasue I started the bitch about outside... ANd I am the bad

I think Mike has a point. If there is going to be an outside flea
market, it is largely because of him, with the support of others. An
outside flea market will undoubtedly make the show better. While
we're on the subject, is there really an outside flea market, and if
so, what time does it start? I don't want to sleep in and miss it but
I don't want to show up at 8AM and stand around until 12 noon
scratching my butt if there isn't one. There really should be some
better communicaton to the public, not just the privelidged few.

well, if you cannot set up right there, you can always grab a small
banquet room at a local hotel a few miles away, and setup your store/
exchanges there.

That seems to work pretty good for IPB during Expo; and a lot of us
now make the IPB gig a part of our annual Expo event.

If you don't need the dedicated room, I guess you could just sell off
the back of your truck.

This is my take on the flea market: There is an outdoor flea market.
It follows the same hours as the show. In order to get into the flea
market you need to have a wristband that you will get when you pay to
get in the show. In order to get to the outdoor area you must go thru
the indoor part. (not like other years where it was separate.)
As for the outdoor market happening because of Mike? Think again..the
indoor spaces were sold out and in order to accommodate the vendors
they had to expand outside. The other side where the show was previous
years was already spoken for.
The space is HUGE and filling up. I saw new vendors there that werent
there before. AWESOME LOOKING GAMES already in place. Cant wait to get
back and flip away!!!!!

BTW: Weather report shows chance of thunderstorms all weekend.....I
guess the indoor flea market vendors will be guaranteed customers so
the weather report doesnt matter to them. Hope it holds up for the
outdoor guys!!

Not quite the same kind of issue here with IVAN.... To most of you

to sell out of for 2700.00 They screwed up as they couldnt do that
