I got a Wiliams Comet machine at my dad's house. While over there
visiting I got in a game. I noticed that none of the (firework)
flashers wasn't working. Played for a litle bit and then the solenoids
stopped working. Huh, opened the backbox checked the fuses and F2 was
blown. Ok, put in another 2.5 sb in there and that blew! Pulled that
out of there and WOW that baby was hot! Checked some thing around the
flashers and noticed one of the ceramic resistors for player 1 was
hot...Had another one and soldered that in and still blows the fuse.
Any ideas to pinpoint on where to look next? Appears something is
stuck on?

I'll look at the schematics when I get a chance tonight and try to
help... but take a look and see what is feed off of that fuse. By the
way, those ceramic resistors do get hot. They are all hot on mine.
You can touch them briefly, but anything longer and it hurts. I think
this is what they do.

Some typical culprits (have no idea if they are connected to that
fuse):
- Pop Bumpers locked on
- Shorted coil

Well, I guess that's all I can think of.

Just adding to Frank's list - bad coil diode, bad bridge rectifier,
bad flashers, (not too likely, but possible).

Try pulling the solenoid drive and ground connectors from the MPU.
Turn on the game and see if the fuse still blows. This will help
determine if it's a board only problem or something down the line.

Good luck with it!
