I owned one for awhile. I found it was Extremely gorgeous to look at
and unique but gameplay was on the slow side. One of the shortest owned
in my collection. To have that kind of money in a pin I have to play it
more. Great game just not for me. The only older pins in my collection
now are Volcano and Black Hole, majority of my collection is Addams and
newer.

Todd, You got me confused with someone else.....I bought mine about 4-5
years ago from a guy that had it stored in his pole barn. It was a sweet
deal on my part. :))

You can't go wrong with any Stern. I also loved Catacomb and hope to get
one someday. I also confused Iron Maiden with that one. My two Stern
favorites are Meteor and Galaxy, with Seawitch(Seabitch) coming in third.

I picked up my old Iron Maiden back in the day well before the boom
after seeing the artwork and layout on the ipdb and playing one -very-
briefly. When I first got it, I liked it a lot. After a very short time
I realized I was keeping it around more for the artwork and less for
the gameplay (very shallow rules and hitting "spot Iron- spot Maiden"
target made it really easy. Once you get the skill shot down off the
plunge, master lighting eb's, and nailing the spot shots it becomes a
horribly boring game. While I can appreciate that killer artwork (not
counting the cab art of course) and a shallow rulest are enough for
some people to keep a game around, I had gotten my fill of the game 3
months after first buying it. The speech doesn't add enough to justify
keeping it around in a collection either. Basically, It doesn't even
make my top 200 games of all-time list. The art package is truly
unique, but the gameplay is significantly below average even compared
to other stern titles of that era. All this being said, the game still
commands a pretty penny since so many collectors are intrigued by the
game. It has that bbb-cc mystique going for it. More hype than
substance. Although, just like bbb's and cc's, there seems to be no
shortage of people who are dying to get their hands on one. When I sold
mine, I had no less than 4 very seriously interested parties and I
really didn't even advertise it being for sale. I did sell mine off
before two popped up on e-bay a little while back and TT sold his. So
maybe the market has cooled a little, but the hype remains :-)

Your Iron Maiden had speech?

How about yours, John? Mine doesn't.

From what I understand there were prototypes with the speech roms, but it
got cut for production games.

Yes, I know the rumors, and I have seen a picture (just a picture)
of Iron Maiden speech ROMs. So, I'm looking for an image of these
ROMs if anyone has them.
