I got my bumper skirts and lamp sockets today and I'm attempting
reassembly. I'm assuming the shrink tubing is just to protect the
wire from grounding out to the pop bumper body? So I will also assume
it is only needed when going through the body, the other side looks
clear. Also, how the heck do you get the staples back in? There is
absolutely no room for my staple gun, I would have to take off a ton
of stuff to com remotely close, any tricks?

Tap them back in with a small hammer, or use the sacrilege method and
use an under the playfield type screw with a big head and make to
screw it down around where the lead comes out of the pb coil bracket,
ensuring that the flat head part of the screw tightens to push the
shrink wrap covered lead against the playfield and hold it in place.
Just make sure it isn't too long that it will go through the
playfield... This will help hold the lead down and reduce vibration
to the socket.

I'm probably going to get blasted for giving that advice, but it
works :\

buy an upholstery stapler(pin restore.com). makes pop bumpers a
breeze. there's clearance before you get to the magazine so you can
remove way less stuff. Then again all that stuff needed cleaning
anyway right? ;)

After rebuilding pops in a MB this week without disassembling the entire
playfield, I'm thinking about upgrading to one of the ones pinrestore now
sells with a long snout.

Might make braiding easier, too.

I have the stapler from pinrestore and it is a great tool.
Good for other uses around the house if you need a non pin excuse.
Reupholster a chair and you're good to go.
