2012 Northwest Pinball Show in Seattle June 8-10th!

NW PINBALL & ARCADE SHOW UPDATE & DETAILS!!!
The 2012 Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show takes place June 8th-10th
at the Seattle Center, featuring over 300 pinball and arcade games all
set on free play! While playing games is the highlight of the show,
the event also includes tournaments, guest speakers, world record
attempts, vendors, collectibles, prizes and seminars. Hear Steve
Ritchie talk about designing the new AC/DC pinball game and Jersey
Jack Guarnieri talk about the upcoming Wizard of Oz. Play the hundreds
and hundreds of games and get the chance to win your own full-sized
arcade or pinball game! Details below:

The Games
This show is the biggest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. In its
fifth year at the Seattle Center, the NW Pinball & Arcade Show draws
thousands of pinball and arcade fans and players to Seattle each June.
The show will feature over 300 pinball and arcade games ranging from
the 1950s to the newest games of today, all games will be free to play
with the price of admission. Local collectors from around the
Northwest all bring their games to this show, from your childhood
favorites to rare restored games you may have never seen before!

Raffle Prizes
Every hour throughout the show, arcade and pinball related prizes are
given out, from game artwork and arcade related merchandise to full-
sized games. Prizes this year include Galaga and Centipede arcade
games and a brand new limited Emerald City Edition of The Wizard of Oz
pinball machine! One more pinball will be added as well!!!

Tournaments
Pinball players will have the chance to compete in the International
Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) sanctioned Northwest Pinball and
Arcade Show Tournament for World Pinball Player Rankings points and
cash prizes. There will also be a variety of smaller and free pinball
tournaments hosted by the Seattle Pinball Museum, as well as arcade
competitions.

World Record Attempts
Every year elite videogame and pinball players take a shot at breaking
world record scores at the show, dozens of world records have been set
in past years. This year will be no exception and we've contracted
with Twin Galaxies to have their judges on hand to oversee world
record attempts this year! Want to attempt a world record? Get in

Speakers
Every year we bring in designers and artists from the pinball and
arcade industry to talk about their craft and their experiences. We
will also be doing seminars on buying your first game, collecting and
game repair. This year’s stellar speaker line-up includes:

•Pinball designer Steve Ritchie (AC/DC, Spider-Man, Terminator 2,
Black Knight, High Speed, Star Trek: The Next Generation and many
more)
•Pinball artist Doug Watson (Attack From Mars, Indiana Jones, The
Shadow, Terminator 2, F-14, Black Knight 2000)
•UK Pinball author and historian Gary Flower (Co-author of Pinball -
The Lure of the Silver Ball)
•Pinball designer John Popadiuk (Circus Voltaire, World Cup Soccer
'94, Tales Of The Arabian Nights, Theatre Of Magic and many more)
•Video game and pinball designer Eugene Jarvis (Robotron, Defender,
Firepower, Narc, Smash TV, Gorgar, Cruis'n)
•Pinball company owner Jack Guarnieri, of Jersey Jack Pinball, who
will be talking about the new Wizard Of Oz game

Special Guests
Along with the stellar line-up of speakers, don't be surprised if you
spot a lot of other people from the pinball and arcade world. Many of
the world's top pinball and arcade players will be in town and
stopping by the show, including Donkey Kong champion Steve Wiebe from
the documentary "King of Kong."

Volunteering
The show is put on by nearly 200 volunteers from the arcade and
pinball collecting community. Volunteers plan this event for 6 months,
bring all the games and staff the show. If you're interested in
volunteering, we would love your help! Volunteering games and/or
working at the show will earn you a free pass, access to invite only
events, and the gratitude of the both the public and game collecting
community.

Vendors
There will be a variety of vendors with booths at the show selling
everything from pinball and arcade artworks and parts, to t-shirts and
classic console games. Vendors this year include Marco Specialties,
Bay Area Amusements, Cointaker LEDs, Illinois Pinball, Great Planes
Modular, Y-Bot Classics, This Old Game, Anime Haus, Specialty Coin and
a few of the speakers.

Event details
The event will be held in the Northwest Rooms of the Seattle Center,
located at 305 Harrison Street in Seattle. Hours of operation: Friday,
June 8th, 12pm-12am; Saturday, June 9th, 10am-12am; Sunday, June 10th,
9am-3pm.

The show is all-ages, admission rates are $20 per day Friday/Saturday
and $15 Sunday for adults, $15 per day Friday/Saturday and $10 Sunday
for kids 6-14, and children 5 and under are free.
