The top bolt, up by the head...this is going to be a nail? It's a
rounded top so I don't think I can get a grip on it to pull it out,
and if it's not a nail I don't want to be pulling anyways. So I am
pretty much going to have to pull on the rail itself to get the nail
out far enough for removal with pliers? Am I on the right track or
way, way off? I don't want to cause any damage so hoping someone has
some wisdom to pass on. Thanks in advance!
BTW (by the way), using abbreviations when asking for specifics about a game
is probably not the optimal way to get information.

It is a Junk Yard. I figured it would be a bolt but when I looked
inside for it there was just wood there (so the point of the nail or
screw or whatever is actually resting inside the panel of wood on top
of the cabinet, where the head sits). I did read in an old post
something about it possibly being a nail, but with no hints on how to
remove it without damaging anything.

I like using Front and Back instead of top and bottom. The front bolt
(near the coin door) is a screw with a rounded head and no slot (like
a carriage bolt) with a nut on the inside of the cabinet to tighten
it. To be honest I wouldn't install a new twist nail at the back of
the rail (near the head). Once the rail is attached via double stick
tape it isn't going anywhere. I have brought home a few games that
had nothing there from the factory anyways.
