Awww yeah, thanks Lyman!

Spider-Man V2.4 - November 18, 2009 - System V1.52

Green Goblin, Sandman, and Venom lamp effects were allowed to run
during
Battle Royale and Super Hero. This has been corrected.

After the first set of Doc Ock modes were completed, running through
the
second set of Bank Bust and Armed At The Dock would not require the
correct
number of shots to the VUK. This has been corrected.

'timers_off()' logic no longer checks for balls being held in
kickouts.

Sandman cycling 3-bank target lamps could possibly blink in a strange
way.
This has been corrected.

'ABORT ANIMATIONS' adjustment default now set to 'ONE'.

Choreographed the shaker motor shaking for Dune of Doom a bit better.

Black suit multiball flasher for super jackpot lit was not being
killed at
end of ball. This has been corrected.

Wow, good for you Spiderman owners!

Not so good for you IJ4, WoF, [fill in other recent Stern titles]
owners, who are waiting for software updates! Seems a bit unbalanced
in terms of what is and is not getting software updates...

Glad there was another update......hey wait a sec does anyone else
remember when soooooo many people called/heard from Stern that there
would be no more updates after version 1.9 and that the game was
complete.

Let this be a lesson to everyone. Stop speaking for Stern (even if
you have called them on the phone) as to when they will end production
(no more Spidermans' topic), only made 10,000 games last year (spammer
topic), etc. I have no problem with people asking about updates
because you never know they may happen. I'm just sick of everyone
saying Stern is dead, they said this is it, yadda yadda yadda (I had
the lobster bisque.)

Agreed, it must be a labor of love. I've met Lyman a couple times,
really nice guy. I'm sure that some/most of this software updating is
off the clock, so to speak, so it's great that any of therm are
getting updates...

Hard to tell for sure but I would agree that this is most likely a
labor of love from Lyman. Similar to Cameron Silver's work on CV. I'd
like to have one some day so thank you!

weekend.
I wonder if all of us downloading can crash Sterns web site?

Where is the adjustment for Shaker motor use and what is the
recommended value? Seems someone said it had to be set to maximum.
Glad I got the BSM and wonder if Stern is really going to run more
SM's after all.

Set it to Maximal. This doesn't change the strength - but it gives
you way more shake FX...lots of little subtle things like little
"hits" every time you hit Goblin, shakes for combos, shakes for
getting shots during modes, etc.

We all owe Lyman a HUGE thank you. This is not about Stern it's about
a guy who loves pinball and will invest as much of his time as
necessary to make sure the games he touches are great. If you ever see

Ditto! Just downloaded, no time to update until later but will give
it a try. Hadn't installed 2.3 yet.

By the way, anyone have any ideas why my shaker motor is less "smooth"
than a few other guys Spidey's I've played? Wondering if my motor is
just out of balance a bit. Appears to be screwed down tight but I'll
check again. Just curious if anyone else notices a difference between
theirs and others.

IMO, it was "finished" once the Sandman and Venom DMD animations were
put in ...everything else that's been added/tweaked is just super
awesome bonus goodness!

Wow...That was fast work! Thanks Lyman. I was just expecting a Doc
Ock fix, but additional tweaks to go along with it. NICE! :-)

It's nice to know that Spider-Man is being taken care of.

Agreed - I'm sure that the level of care and refinement that SM's code has
received is far beyond that of any pinball made before. SM is a rather
special machine, and it's obvious that Lyman feels that way too.

Thanks so much for fixing the DO bug!

It's amazing how time heals all wounds. So many people were upset
over the code last year. Almost everyone doubted the game would get
the attention it deserves, including me. Thanks to Lyman and Steve
for putting your hearts and souls into what you love doing. The game
is truly a masterpiece and isn't going anywhere from my collection any
time soon! Go Spidey, Go.

Thanks Lyman! Even though these adjustments seem minor the attention
is very much appreciated. I hope Gary recognizes your actions and the
positive customer responses to it. Goes a LONG way in reinforcing
trust to buy a top title again from Stern. Dare I say, it demonstrates
Stern is listening. Thank you Lyman!

Just focus on updating codes on the super hero games and I'll be happy
and keep buying. :-)

I agree. This is probably more about one guy's pride in his work than
it is about a Gary Stern driven initiative, though if I'm wrong then I
apologise to Gary. Gives me hope that eventually BDK will be enhanced
as that's another of Lyman's babies, and he's unlikely to be satisfied
with it currently.

Just played some 2.4 ....the Dune of Doom shakies are great now!
Instead of one long rumble, the shakes sync with the explosions &
Sandman falling apart and crashing to the ground! Awesome!

I remember hearing people suggesting this before I even bought my
Spider-Man. When I got mine software version was 2.2 and I asked if
anyone ever thought the Dunes of Doom rumble would ever be refined.
The answers were "No way...the code is finished and nothing else will
be fixed / improved on Spider-Man". I'm glad they were mistaken.

Hmmm Mine didn't do that. It seemed about the same for sandman. Maybe
a slightly shorter duration. I have it set to Maximum though. Maybe
that's why it's still a long rumble???

I just did my Dunes of Doom complete with shaker on max and it is
defiantly different. It used to be one big solid long rumble. Now it
is much softer but refined. It has separate shakes for each of the
"New Goblin's" pumpkin bombs going into Sandman and several different
shakes for the explosions and Sandman falling. It now feels like the
best choreographed shake in the game as apposed to the longest /
hardest shake like it was before.
