Have a chance to buy this rather unusual pinball. Only 400+ made.
Anyone know anything about it? How much is it worth?

Thanks

they're pretty desirable. a couple of years ago they were selling for
$2500 and up. best head-to-head game ever made in most everyone's
opinion.

They've gone from $400-$4000 depends on how much you want to pay for it.

Good if you have a lot of people over to play it head to head, sucks
wind if you play it by yourself. Takes up more room than having a
normal pin (since you have to have access from both sides)

Icredibly, the ebay algorhythm shows this pin selling on average of
over $3k. Granted, this is of a sample of just 6 sold over the last
couple years.
I don't have an actual price guide book, but I'm sure one of the
fellas here can help you with that.
I personally don't see how the pin is worth much more than the average
pin, but then again IDK much about the pin.

I have seen in in RL & played it. I could see it being cool in an
arcade but only if you got a friend to play with. Thus it loses alot
of value with me cuz you simple can't play 1 player.
but for a gameroom where you have people over a lot, then it might be
pretty cool. Worth paying 3k for? Nah. But if you have a good deal
on it and can confirm its worth beyond what I'm telling you, then
maybe bring it in, clean it up, play it for a bit, then re-sell it.
Just don't know how much demand for it there is, other than that its
pretty rare & unique.

And if you don't know, it is more like a cocktail machine. No
backglass.
You know, as far as the 2 player thing, I bet you could mod this thing
so that 1 player could control the flippers simultaneously at both
ends. That could make things more interesting!

I found one on DC CL for $2400 including shipping in very good
condition. SInce I frequently entertain the two player thing is not a
problem. In fact, it is more for guests than myself. Just wanted to
be sure I wasn't buying a dog,

Its a dog if you personally don't like it. This is one of those deals
where if you really like the pin, then it might be worth paying that
much, then if you plan to re-sell, you might make some profit, but at
the same time you might have to wait a while for a buyer to come
around willing to pay your price.
Though if you at least kinda like the pin, do have guests over that
might enjoy it, have $2400 to throw at it...then go for it. But I do
think its safe to say that at 2400 its not a bad deal, so long as its
as nice as described.

The game is designed to allow single players to control flippers on
both sides - no mods necessary!

It's an awesome game as long as you have a 2 player game going. I
remember playing one, thinking I had beat the other player, then
suddenly lost real fast.

But know it's a system 7 board set, and they can break as easily as
Black Knight, etc from that era. So you could get a working game,
then find you have to do some board repair later or buy a new board
set if they are available. I think they are? I forget who carries the
newer system 7 boards and not sure if they work for this game?
Somebody else can probably clarify this stuff.

In my opinion, it's a very expensive novelty pin. Having said that,
I'm a sucker for novelty pins (owning a Viza War, O1 and SMBMW) and
would be interested in a Joust, but not for the prices they usually go
for.

I just reread your listing and you say $2400 including shipping. It
must be a piece of junk or a scam. For that kind of money, I know of 3
people that would be driving across the country to pick it up.If your
interested in it you should drive & look at it.

They have sold on ebay for $3000-4000 or slightly more in the past few
years.
that is a lot of money for a used pin, even though it is relatively
rare,
but i think most have survived, because it was so unique.
Rarer pins from the 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s still go for a lot less.
It is kinda neat, but a novelty pin none the less.
I would like to have one, but not willing to pay more than $2000;
and it have to be in primo shape, and most that i have seen in person
seem to have some issues or flaws.

I bet you don`t get a reply to looking at it. Good luck to whoever
buys it. It a fun game for 2 people.

Standard System 7 board set jumpered for 3 Roms. If a good repairman goes over the
board set it will be good for the next 20 years of home use.
