You knew this was coming!
It won't sell for $4000 and they'll realize they made a mistake.
And the world turns.
Or there will be some idiot with too much money who thinks it will be
an investment and then we'll see a repeat of the exotic car collector
craze of the 80's....
Dave
If I had an Odds and Evens I'd list it right now on ebay for $800.
Dave
Notice I didn't actually say I would buy it. I just asked a
question....... ;-)
Sitting imaptiently waiting for an answer......
There's one on mr. pinball for $450.00. Somebody should tell him he
about $3000,00 to cheap. LOL
I sold mine last year for $700. I guess I should have waited. ;)
There was one on ebay yesterday for 400. No bids.
now excuse me while I return to what I was doing when I first read
this: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
And he didn't pay very good attention, the "unrestored" one was
"bought" for $1K. The $3K shop job was the expensive part!
> I just hit the "Ask the Seller a Question" Button and asked this -
> Would you sell it for $2500 and end the auction?
That's such a good question, I think I'll ask it, even though it's already
been asked! :)

Why do I have a feeling after they run the auction say 6x - each time
dropping the starting price by $500 they will then contact me and ask
if I want to buy it for $2500.....
I wish I had a few of these, I'd offer them to the same guy for half
price.. "You could flip these and double your money!" ;)
I think we all need to ask some creative questions - this seller is
going to think they have the holy grail.......
Ask them if the serial number is written in blue or black ink and if
black it's VERY rare and worth more...
I hope my next question gets posted to the auction - it has a BTTF
movie reference - I may have went over the top on that one.........
Just think of all the "watching" the seller is pleased to see going on
with this auction...
Jake
You mean the $3K "con job" don't you?
(Everything, worked, too...)

Jeez, they ought to throw in granite counter tops and pergo flooring
while they're at it.
Buy now or you'll be priced out forever!
I just asked the seller this question: "How would I know for sure that
this pinball machine is not a re-import? That is, made in USA for
export to Europe, and then reimported to USA. There's usually a $2,000
difference in value between ones made for USA and ones made for
export."
Tom

I asked if the machine was signed by Big Hoss and Chumlee. :)
They better tack an extra thow onto the price, that's the exact same
thing the Pawn Stars restorer did to his machine. Replaced the
'band', yeah, that's the ticket.
He was such a genius he knew it was going to cost 3000 to fix it, when
he hadn't even plugged it in to see if it worked or not, oh brother.
Did this restorer guy creep anybody else like he did me? The way he
looked like everything he said was a lie and it was showing in his
face? Eeeuuuu!
I love the first posted question:
"Is this the rare game seen on TV? I think it is a collectors item and
will only increase in value, right?"
Hmmm... Do you think its possible that the seller made that up?
-Karl M
I've had more calls from people lately who think that Williams Darling
they have had in their basement for 15 years that is used to stack
clothes on is a "gold mine". It's hard to make them understand. :-(

That's pretty funny
Here's the question I just sent to the seller:
"I have a 1950's carnival ride in good condition. A similar one was
recently appraised for $5000 on American Pickers. Would you consider
a trade?"
Hopefully he's interested :)

Dear ldnayman,
Thats the most creative you can get?
- sellingitmadesimpleauctions Did this answer your question? If not,
let the seller know.

WORKS GREAT
Sent Date: Feb-26-10 07:29:51 PST
Dear sellingitmadesimpleauctions,
I really want this super rare game that I saw featured on TV's pawn
stars. Me and the wife have been hit very hard with the recession, but
we have about $3500 left and this is certainly a better investment for
growth than giving $$ to those Wall Street crooks. Would you end the
auction now and sell it for $3500? Can pay cash on delivery.
- ldnayman
Everyone should ask him silly questions. Mine was,
"Is it true this machine was designed by P.T. Barnum? That's what I
heard on TV. It must be extremely valuable!"
The objective is to get him to publish the questions without knowing
he's being made fun of.
This is almost as good as the Nigerian scheme. I hope someone buys
it. Then we can contact the buyer and offer even more money. Pretty
soon all our machines will be worth millions, perhaps billions and we
can each have our own private Pacific island. I'm hoping for
someplace around Micronesia.

Dear azcats_fan,
Bob, please tell your other forum cronies that we are just a store
selling the item for a private seller and we explained the show and
the machine value to them and they still wanted to sell it at this
price. Thanks.

I think this is a store that people take items to and they list/sell/
ship them on ebay and the store gets a cut.

It certainly is...they are just doing their job. Still, the owners of
this machine are certainly watching the auction.
FORUM CRONIES!?!?
Who's he calling forum cronies?!?!
I'm shocked!
...
Now I'm mad!
...
Now I'm in denial
...
Now I'm depressed
...
Now I've come to accept it
...
Now I kind of like it
Today I am a forum cronie!

Maybe the seller is regaining his sense of humor .... he replied to my
question about whether it was a re-import:
"This machine was originally exported to Zimbabwe where it was part of
the 1985 revolution and played an integral part in the overthrow of
the dictator regime. Once the machine itself was removed from
government, it was exiled to Chile where it sought refuge until 2005
and was re-imported back to the US to live out its days in our
beautiful country. Seriously, thats the best you can do?"
Tom
Written like a true smarta**. Ok now I can respect the guy. :)
Chris
Someone needs to start a bidding war and have the machine go up to a
million dollars.
Let's not forget, the ebay seller's motives (not the actual owner of
the pinball machine) are driven by commission and listing fees, not by
whether or not it sells. Sort of like those home appraisers and loan
company people who never bothered to tell the clients that it did not
appear that the ARM loan was sustainable. Not that it was their job
but the point is that their motives are DIFFERENT from those who took
the loans (or own the pinball machine). They are in it for the
commissions...
What a bunch of babies. If they act as the seller's agent and take a
cut of the profits for that then they take the heat that goes along
with it. They knew they were representing a seller with an outrageous
price and flak was assured. They could have turned it down. But
they, like the seller, are hoping some "greater fool" buys it based on
the hot air from the tv show.
