Full retail? How long till Stern rides the market up to $10,000 for a
NIB LE Pinball Machine? We can argue but the prices moving up and that's
on all games.

Supply and demand set the prices not Stern. The prices will be as high
as people are willing to pay. This isn't a poor man's hobby.
Inflation has impacted everything not just new pins. Listen to Steve
Ritchies last interview. It explains this quite well.

You could always buy one, play it for a while, then sell it and get
most of your money back out. Most of us don't keep pins forever
anyway.

Some pins tank fast NIB or not.

You will see it as soon as the stupids will pay it.
Gary Co. will charge what markets will tolerate. Seems that there is
not a shortage of folks willing to pony up for the latest. Good for
them, but good for pinball?

The current pricing is not substainable long term. It is being driven
by speculators/flippers. Eventually they have to sell titles to fund
their speculation. Given the miss rate on quality pin development
(whole package) you are better off waiting and playing a machine to
see if you like it. Many, not me, reserve a machine then wait to here
if it is good. If they don't hear good things they backout or flip
without opening.

AC/DC is marketed from Stern as a Super LE. Here is info from Stern.

LE’s and Premium are SUPER LE’s with more features and higher price
points than
recent LE games from SPI
• With the SUPER LE’s, we are responding to market demands
• We do not expect to offer SUPER LE’s very frequently, which adds to
their value as a
collectible
• The Premium is new and is designed for customers and players that
want GAME PLAY
like the LE but the artistic simplicity of the Pro
• The Premium is a SUPER high-end game, but priced lower than the
SUPER LE’s to
account for the artistic simplicity and lack of collectible features
(such as numbering,
signatures and limited production runs)

I do know as fact that the next title from Stern (Borg's LE game) will
be cheaper than AC/DC.
So the info above is reference to the Super LE (Steve's game) I'm sure
many here have not heard that reference.

We won't see a 10K pin from a mass market production company. Stern/JJP

10K NIB pins will be a reality given the guile of most people to buy a
game no matter the price / feature ratio sight unseen and unplayed.

The pin market is following the same path that all past markets have
followed before they burst. Now we see prices getting out of
control... that seems to be one of the last signs we get before POP,
goes the weasel!

Pins will always be worth something since they are pretty intricate
toys. But like collectible cars, your house, stamps, stocks, you name
it the prices will take a hit sooner or later, go down and then level
out somewhere at a much more reasonable level. When? no one ever knows
for sure but the signs are beginning to show...

Assuming we don't run into crazy inflation. That would put gas over $10 a

It is inaccurate because Tron LE was already sold at a price point below
$10K.

MSRP of $10K, not inflated price of NIB on the collector market.

I think that's the same wishful thinking I've been reading on here for
the last five years. I think we may see prices level off and stagnate,
but if you thing someday you're going to be able to score a pin like
MM or CC for something like 4K again, your dreaming. If they ever
drop to those levels, you and I will have much bigger concerns than
building our collections(IMHO).

An MSRP of $10K will kill the pin industry for sure. The price for
NIB pins has dramatically increased in the past 4-5 years. As a
collector I would have a hard time buying a NIB today. It would have
to be a really must have tittle or game for me.

How has this happened. No offense to JPop but he made 4 pins which are
CV, WCS, ToM and TotAN. I hear people all the time say WCS and TotAN
suck and ToM doesn't have a huge following. CV is the best of the four
and many don't like it or say it's gay. So, why are people putting 15k
into a JPop pin that they haven't even seen?

Well seeings how TOM, TOTAN and CV are oftern ranked in the top 15 pins
of all time, I guess people felt he could deliver the goods again.

I have never heard anyone say those games suck. Some don't like CV
cause it looks kinda fruity. Some don't like TOM because it is kinda
easy and the wizard mode is not what it should be, same is sometimes
said about TOTAN with the easiness. WCS is a great game that
beginners and better players both seem to like. Jpop's games are all
fun and different than the norm with their big winding ramps, magnets
and great audio.

Well, that an interesting statement.....but 3 of the 4 are A-listers,
and command big money, so they cant suck all that bad..

I have had ToM, (sold it) if i had more free cash and especialy MORE
ROOM, i woulda kept it..... i really like Totan....CV is a good game,
and i can be quite fun.....are any of these super deep holy grails,
NAH...but fun none the less...

If i happened upon a Totan i would certainly buy it if the price was
right..same with CV.....Totan first though...

When 3 outta 4 by JPOP are A-listers, then i can see why guys with
unlimited cash might speculate, or just outright want one...

JPOP's track record of sucess seeds itself......75% sucess rate is
damn good....

I guess we will see what he brings to the table......could triple in
value, cause of the limited production, or it could be a BOWL SWIRLER
that you cant give away for half the money paid....time will tell....

Anyway i think $ and cents speculation is the route of all JPOP's
sales....

Maybe I am misunderstanding the things people say about these games. I
like CV and I like WCS even though I despise soccer. I do think they are
all easy and get old fast.

I never beat my theater, dont ask me why.....just couldnt...or
didnt.....played CV enough to know i do like it.....

If i had a bunch more room and could get very nice examples of the 3
Totan, ToM again, and CV i would try to do so....

and i dont think they would get old, to the point opf hatred at
all......

Sold the ToM to fund 2 other pins i really wanted that came
available......glad i did, but i miss banging around on theater.

From a player's perspective, I would give JP a fifty percent success rate. Totan and Tom are pretty games with some fun toys (I always did like the spikes), but good long term players they are not.

I like Popadiuk's games, but one thing I notice is that he seems to
concentrate more on the toys, and less on the gameplay itself. WCS
didn't have fancy toys and was a good player. TOM and TOTAN featured
fancier toys and were progressively more boring. CV has good
gameplay, but the playfield design has issues (finicky locks, ball
hangups, right ramp rarely makes it up, etc). Ep1 is a special case,
not really going to blame John for that suck-fest :) However, it
looks from the zombie trailer that he's really concentrating on
toys... hope the gameplay is in there as well.
