Description:
Over one thousand years ago, a race of angelic people facing extinction
forged an empire through blood and conquest. The pattern of kingdoms and
republics dominated by a single race was broken when the Allerian Empire
was proclaimed and offered peoples of diverse backgrounds and species the
opportunity to embark on bold adventures, seek out lost treasures and find
prosperity in a land of magic and mystery. Yet with opportunity and power
came the prospect of corruption and darkness, and it was in this capacity
that the empire began to feel the strain of its overwhelming size. Today,
adventurers and citizens alike vie for prominence both inside and outside
of the Allerian Empire, interacting in a landscape dotted with castles and
thriving cities, plagued by monsters and brigands, colored by spellcraft
and gods, and plunged into political intrigue.
The Allerian Empire is situated on the eastern half of the Medonian
Continent on the world of Telath, the ninth planet in a three-sun star
system. Within its borders, Allerian citizens enjoy climates ranging from
the serene enchanted forests of Lauryl and Centripax, to the rolling
mysterious meadow of Enamoria; from the sun-scorched deserts of Arakmat,
to the frozen tundra of Carmelyn and Arium. Isles basking in the cool
Eunesian sea contrasts with the rugged landscape of the Sherian Peninsula,
and at the heart of the empire is the eternal city of Alleria Prime. With
fantastical creatures varying from the humorous to the perilous, Alleria
boasts flora and fauna of diverse origins, and this same diversity plays
out perpetually in the intermingling of numerous races within the melting
pot of medieval society, as tensions still remain high.
As the player of one of the epic characters caught amidst a whirlwind of
change and excitement, you enter the Allerian Empire in an age of change
wherein the isolation once enjoyed by the Allerian adventurers can no
longer be sustained as the gods have begun to walk among mortals, foreign
powers have begun to interfere with the localities, and the discovery of
new societies with newer magic and technology are rapidly redefining the
rules of engagement. In the Allerian Empire, you play the role of a
character that you define and create. Players interact over message forums
using the medium of text in writing expressive prose to describe how their
characters think, feel and act. Interacting with fellow characters and an
environment controlled by dedicated storytellers, a broader story emerges
that outlines your character's experiences within the Allerian Empire.
Players control the actions of their characters, whereas Game Masters and
other story moderators determine the reactions and results of these
actions. Unlike all other role playing games, Alleria uses no dice and
statistics tables, believing that luck should be replaced by imagination
and creativity. In the end, Alleria hosts an active community of fantasy
authors and role-playing enthusiasts from around the world continuing in a
tradition that has spanned over a decade.
