The Mystik Isles is a multi user dungeon running on a smaug/envy code
base. Our mud has many
great features, only some of which are listed here.
* Extremely Newbie Friendly: A specially designed mud school for even
the most inexperienced player that explains the basics of
mudding in great detail. A special newbie town with convenient
access to many low level areas.
* Experienced Immortals: The members of our immortal staff have many
years of both playing and coding/creating experience.
* Multiplaying: Players may log on more then one character at any
time.
* Multiclassing: At level 15, players may pray for a second class.
* Special Classes: After reaching level 50 in their primary classes,
players may choose to either specialize as a Knight(warrior),
Ninja(thief), Archmage(mage) or Saint(cleric). Those who wish
to follow a different path may instead choose to Avatar.
* Unique Spells/Skills: Many original skills and spells specifically
designed for specialist classes.
* Automated Quests: A questmaster who offers players of all levels
special level appropriate quests.
* Special Mud Quests and Invasions: In addition to Immortal run
quests and invasions, we also have area-based quests and
invasions.
* Clans: Each clan may offer special clan equipment to their members,
as well as other benefits that can only obtained through clan
membership.
* Continents: A continent based world, with each continent reflecting
a distinct theme.
* Unique Areas: Many unique areas, including Acme Toons, Amber (based
on the series of books by Roger Zelazny), Cheese Forest, Dragon
Mosaic, Dream Music,Gargoyles, The Gnoll Prison, The Mystic Mall,
The Mystic University, Washington Square Park, Stuffiecon and many
more.
* Arena: A special battle arena where players may engage in pking.
* Equipment: Great equipment for all levels, with powerful charbits
on high level equipment. A limited (20 level) restriction on
equipment is in place, as well as restricted equipment for
avatars/specialists only.
* Separateable Equipment: Equipment that can be broken down into its
component parts, such as a sword which can broken down into a
hilt and blade.
* Layered Equipment: Equipment that can be worn over/under other
equipment in layers.
* Items can be buried or even hidden underneath other items.
* No Rent.
* Lockers, to store additional equipment, for a minimal rental fee.
* Aliases to abbreviate frequently used commands.
* Interactive mobs, as well as room and object programs.
* Pets that save with your character when you quit playing.
* Healing Potions and Salves.
* Insanity: Players who fail to eat, drink and sleep may eventually
go insane.
* 10 room exits rather then the standard 6.
* Buttons, levers, chains and switches that can be manipulated by
players.
* Rather than all classes simply casting their spells, Mages weave
spells, Clerics pray for spells, and Psionicists focus their
spells.
Future plans include:
* Deities.
* Mobiles that utilize all of the skills of their class.
* Intelligent mobiles that hunt other mobs, group with each other, or
even with players.
