DOWNTIME: Viking MUD temporarily down (possibly more than a week)

Viking MUD will be down for an unknown period of time, but only
temporarily.

Viking's server was (once again) hit by a brief power failure, and as
we hadn't gotten the UPS we wanted yet, it went down hard.

The problem seems to lie with the network adapter. Unfortunately, we
may not be able to get a person on-site at the location facility until
2002-04-03 (Wednesday next week). Then debugging of the problem can
commence (with installation of a new network adapter, if necessary, as
well as a UPS, which should have arrived by then).

We would like to apologize for the downtime, and will of course do
what we can to bring Viking back up earlier.

PS: Grrr. This is the fourth time around in a pretty short time, and
judging from the plans of the local power company, we'll have more
_unannounced_ downtime due to power outages this year.
