I need some advice for you guys. I am painting black legion army but I
am not very happy with my color scheme. I use chainmail for trims and
bendings and brazen brass for detalis (skulls and arrows). It works ok
with plastic figures but metal ones have more detalis like cables etc.
Do you have any suggestions? How do you paint backpacks?
It would be great if you could give me some advice or some links to
black legion gallery (I found just 4 or 5 photos).

thanks

Jacek

For the details use an ink wash, or a wash of thinned down paint. A
mixture of blue/black for chainmail and flesh wash for brass. Then dry
brush over the areas again when the wash/ink dries for highlights. This
will bring out the details. For my backpacks I take the lazy approach: I
paint all the backpacks a basic black and then just dry brush them with
one of the metallics I am using for the rest of the fig. For my khornate
army I have black backpacks and some are drybrushed with brass, some with
gold and others with copper. Simple effect to bring out the details on
the pack and takes mere minutes to paint them up...

Take a look at the pictures in the new chaos marine codex which has images
of the Black Legion in the painting help section. You might some ideas
there...
