I'm not overwhelmed by the idea of snaptite Cadian figures. (We've
already GOT plastic cadians.) Where's the plastic version of the Death
Korps of Krieg / Steel Legion figures that folks have been clamoring for
for ages?

Hmmm, wonder if it'll be the same book basically with less
'fluff' (I.e. a shit load less pics/battle reports) repackaged into a
more affordable format. (Or a load of 'data-fax' sheets for various
things repackaged in book form.) Either one would not surprise me.

True, but the can propellent kits are generally low quality. Which
is why a good airbrush and compressor set remain relatively expensive by
comparison. Uneven air pressure equals spatter and spray patterns on
one's working surface - which generally isn't what one is going for.
Even the airbrush + pressure tank systems are a trade off as the
pressure can drop off fairly quickly depending on the job.

whole of North America this time. (That was an amazingly short sighted
business choice on GW's part - again.) On the plus side it has helped
their competitors like Rackham sell similar products at a lower price.
As for the 40K counter sets - I'm not holding my breath. I'll wait
until I see them. The counter sets they sold for City Fight were
'craptacular' to put it mildly. They had the look of something thrown
together in 30 minutes or less as an after thought.
Hell, the counters I designed have had more than 460+ downloads from
Spacks' site - which isn't bad considering how rarely I advertise them.

And I'm not a photoshop wizard by any stretch of the imagination. GW's
got the background art needed to do some truly kick-ass counters, but to
date they've failed miserably. Perhaps this time is the time the come
out with something good - but I'll look first and spend later if at all.

I'd be nigh well shocked if there was a price drop. Considering
that plastic Dreads remained the same price as metal Dreads when the
plastics came out. (And this long long before oil prices went through
the roof.)

really good local print shop (which could do large print jobs at a
reasonable price) just recently got bought out by a big national chain -
which then moved it 30 miles away into a nearby city. (Dumb-asses!)

Alliance Games are a wholesaler - often they price items up by the display
stand/box as well as individually. $18 is likely for a multipack for
splitting out at retail.

that's my guess as well.. probably a 6 pack of pots at $3 a peice.

as far as the Apocaclypse Vol 2. probably a compilation of the data

As part of this rollout, several of the larger Apocalypse boxed sets
(like the Battle Company, Tank Company, etc...) are supposedly being
re-released, as well a a load of new boxed sets for the included
Datasheets.

Theoretical math: 88pgs minus 50 new sheets = 38pgs.
That's not nearly enough to cover the obligatory ad photos.
Traditionally, these have been a majority in any "expansion".
So, probably half-page Sheets with accompanying box set ad.
Subtract 1pg for SAs and 1 for that "monumental" BR.
That would leave 36 pages for lavish full-colour pimpery.
Thus, 50 half-pages + 36 full = 61/88, or 70% ads.
Now, that's more like it.
Plus, we finally hear the reason 40k FAQs haven't been maintained:
They've been too busy with 5th ed the last four years . . .
On 12 July, all these FAQs will be updated for fifth -

Hi guys
From my understanding (and no, I haven't seen the book), the datasheets
consist of "the pick of the litter" from our web site and a few new
datasheets for each army, totalling 50 sheets in all. I haven't heard
anything at all about there being IA: Apoc sheets included, so i
wouldn't be worried about that at all. I also have not heard about any
crazy scratchbuilds for any of the armies, but hey, it could happen.
All in all it looks like a good bit of fun for those that have been
having a great time with Apocalypse.

I'm taking a wait and see approach with this one too. As much as I'd
like to be enthused about it since I like 40KA, way to much past GW
experience (like the $50 Apocalypse book) tells me to wait and let
someone else shell out for it first, or at least get a good hands on
preview before I decide to part with any cash.

I'm not even interested in the new missions... Apocalypse was the only
facet of 40K I was interested in.. and the local howler monkey brigade
has made that unplayable as well.

dealing with them (read: questioning their heritage etc) isn't allowed
in the GW shop...

Strategic Redeployment - so a 2m long string of zombies later, coupled
with the Disrupter Beacon, no flank marching for the enemy. It was
great watching all the reinforcements forced to cram into their own
deployment area (which was still a reasonable size, we played 12x6).

Only works in the UK store of course (but then, most of the UK site
works unlike the US site too.) They want 7 pounds for 3 snap-fit
marines, 4 Ork boyz, or 5 Termigants? WTF...

Gah! The Cadian snap-fits are the most 'Meh' of the bunch and
just as 'way overpriced' as the rest. About the only useful thing I
learned is that it'll be easy to spot Ork armys with all 'snap-fit
boyz' as the models all have the pistols in the left hands and the melee
weapons in the right.
