The Obliterator's cute...
No new photos for me, but progress this month has been the painting of
another Avenger squad and Wave Serpent, and 10 Striking Scorpions.
Paint up my Farseer, and my basic 1750pt army will be all done. Then I
may be able to justify buying those War Walkers...

I like how you've posed it on a butcher block. ;- )
What's this fella going to represent on the tabletop?

Hrud! (Just clearing my throat.)
Are these based on Skaven figs?
Where did you find all those donor bits?

Well, Traitor Guard still use the tourney-legal IG Codex.
So, you'd still be smarter than guys with LatD armies . . .

Nice use of plasticard.
Thanks for the update and keep up the good work!

You're some kind of painting machine!
I can stare at my bench for ages before lifting a brush -
The "IG officer" conversions still aren't modeled completely.
I did pick up 2 "Bastions" for US$3 at the garden store.
Those shouldn't require much staring.

I am painting Flames of War miniatures. In fact I'm taking Thursday and
Friday off to paint all day.

i'm still barely halfway through those 2 BFG escort squadrons.
yes-- the ones i started in FEBRUARY.
nobody can touch me in the paint-malingering arena.

Yes.

* Skaven plague monk body
* IG boots and arms. Trying to get the arms to fit was no fun :(
* Plague havoc head. If I do more of these guys I would need to find
another source of heads with gasmasks and/or hoods. There are som
heads from Pig Iron I could use, but I'm not sure I like them enough.

Before the IG dex was released I was hoping that it would be possible
to build some sort of 'counts as' LatD. That didn't really work out as
I had hoped.

Lot of time to procrastinate at the moment...
> I can stare at my bench for ages before lifting a brush -
I got pretty fed up with green after a while, but once I get past the
basecoating and highlighting stage I quite like doing the detail stuff
to get the models done - and having nice models is a bonus. Definitely
warmed to the 4th Ed Scorps.

I'm still dreading green-stuffing mandiblasters and a fusion gun cable
for my Autarch.
Phil
Really? A few months ago I finally got round to spraying a squad of
Howling Banshees I've had since at least 2nd Ed, and they aren't
painted yet.
Phil
oh i can assure you there are numerous models i bought in 1989 that STILL
have yet to be threatened by a paintbrush
I think I'm probably down to my last Reapers and Banshees in that
regard (not even sure I bought them close to that long ago - more like
1994. I only started collecting in '92). I have now painted my
Farseer, and very nice he looks too - camera still isn't working,
though.
Of course now I've done that, and finished my 1,750pt list, I've
decided to draw up a 1,500pt and a 750pt list in which (a) I'm using a
different Farseer (or none at all in the smaller list), and (b) I now
need to paint up my flamer Dragon Exarch (may as well do his squad
while I'm at it - got enough painted Dragons to make a full squad
without them, though) and my Autarch (when I get round to finishing
modelling him).

Moramarth
I'm currently in the process of doing another batch of 32 gants
including a lot of the old 2nd Ed metals with various weapons like
strangle webs and spike rifles, as well as 43 spore mines. I've been
picking up spore mines stupid cheap on ebay, and I found 27 of them in
the bits box at the FLGS for $10. Not all the spore mines will be for
my army as I'm doing a bug army for a friend too. But when all is said
and done I'll have plenty! I've also started doing magnetic arm
conversions on three of the ABoR Dreads (for me) as well as a FW Grey
Knights dread for a friend of mine. I've also assembled and primed two
of the Ageais Defense lines and a bastion too. So, while I haven't
finished any units recently, I've gotten a fair bit of work done.
Oh - and I primered about 20 of the little 'tyranid infestation' nodes
too that came with the previous 40K boxed set. *Some light-year I'll
actually finish up the crashed Lander terrain that came with it.*

In general (I know, there's bound to be an exception somewhere), in GW
games, you can't do anything unless it specifically says you can. It's
just like living in Germany...

AAAAaaargh!!
Set them aside ready to base once I do the next batch.
Painted up a shed load of 20mm somalians.
These are Liberation miniatures and I suppose the sculpts are dynamic,
Probably do more pics later:

I have also assembled 20 clanrats.
Yes you read that right.
I'll actually be painting some GW stuff.

Like the paint jobs. I can't tell if the guy on the far right is
throwing a grenade, celebrating a 'touch-down', or trying to break wind
while giving the 'thumbs up' sign.

DON'T DO IT!!! It can only lead to pain and regret...

You make it sound like Marraige... But really... no matter how badly
Jervis and Gav cock up the rules.. it's not that bad.
No, I have an optivisor and I couldn't tell you which.
50p each though
The Liberation Delta and Rangers are far nicer sculpts and I'm looking
forward to painting them.
Cheers,
Andy

Nothing's as bad as marriage
--
Craig (Hi, soon-to-be ex-dear!)
actually, in this inclusive age of cohabitation benefits and civil unions,
there is a whole range of ways in which you can flush away your life and
self-respect just as thoroughly without ever having to deal with
restrictive, traditionalised concepts like marriage.
Yes. So many different ways for others to interfere with our hobbies.
The nagging and the withering stares when we bring home new shiny
unassembled things, which actually turns into shrieking when it's
resin delivred by mail ("You paid HOW MUCH for that little piece of
plastic?!")
And of course the spawning of offspring who additionally distract us
from increasing the size of our tiny plastic armies with irreverant
blathering of details about Bakugan and Ben 10. Just let me be, I want
to paint!
Try as I might I can't spend as much as the SOs haircuts, make up, clothes,
and shoes. Well I suppouse I could buy GW brand new, that would probably do
it.
Ah, yes, but that implies logic comes in there somewhere.
300 on a pair of shoes that cripple her feet and she's only going to wear
once is entirely sensible.
12 for plastic figures is a waste of money.
This still applies when she's "looking for work" and you're doing an 80
hour week.
Yes you poor dear thing, which is why there was no comment when I bought two
compressors and airbrushes.
