I just got myself the Space Wolves Army Box, the Space Wolves Codex and the
Space Marine Codex. Planing to have a nice evening, I opened the box, looked
at all those sprues and was a little bit confused. Wich of the loads of
armories is wich weapon ?!?!?! There are different things wich nearly look
the same (sorry, I am new to the hobby). So how on earth can I fit the
models with the correct weapon (according to the space Wolves Codex) ? Is
there a homepage, where the different weapons are listed with pictures and
names ?
Thanks in advance !

The 40K Main Rulebook (also known as the Big Black Book or BBB) has pics of the
various imperial weapons. They are also scattered around the different codices
in some form or fashion but it's haphazard.
Hmm, this would probably be a good item for GW to make if they haven't
already... pics and descriptions of all the 40K weapons. Something along the
lines of "Janes' All the Universes Hand Weapons".
Hi there Markus,
Here goes...
Bolters - supplied on the arm and shoulder pad sprue.
Also a 'wolfie' bolter on the 'wolfie' sprue.
Meltagun - on the 'wolfie' sprue, cylindrical at the business end of gun.
Powerfist - on the 'wolfie' sprue
Powerweapons (axe & sword) - on the 'wolfie' sprue.
Bolt Pistols & chainswords - supplied on the sprues with the weapons already
in the hands, there's also a Plasma Pistol on there too.
On the main marine body sprues you'll find stuff like auspex, bolt pistol
holstered, grenades, pouches etc...
Things like flamers and missile launchers are supplied with the
command/sergeant sprue - available in the vanilla marine Tactical Squad, or
via your local friendly (nice but dim...) Mail Order Troll - sorry 'Hobby
Specialist'.
This should be enough to get you started. Take your time, plan each model's
pose, and most importantly have fun, it's not always about winning!
Best Regards
Pitstarter
Damn! I've been doing this so long I hadn't thought about that.
You just kinda figure out what's what through osmosis.
The stubby little machine gun looking thingies are bolters, the one with the
propane tank on the bottom is the flamer, the other one is the melta gun.
Is this helpful at all?

The ranged weapons carried by the majority in the squad are bolters. In the
lower row, the first model on the left is armed with a power fist, the central
one (the Pack Leader) with a power sword (throughout the range, power swords
differ from normal swords in being double-edged and having the wire visible on
the blade here), and the one to his right carries a meltagun (with vents in the
barrel). Also, the pack leader's bolter has a targeter - the telescope
attachment on top.

In the components section, the weapon at the top of the two 'assault arm'
sprues (the one not attached to the hand) is a plasma pistol. The other pistol,
that looks like a small bolter, is a bolt pistol. The chainsword is a close
combat weapon that has no special rules, like a knife or sword.

From left to right: multimelta, heavy bolter, bolter and power axe, lascannon,
plasma cannon (note the similarity to the plasma pistol). The remaining heavy
weapon, not in this set, is the missile launcher, which is easy to recognise as
it is the only plastic heavy weapon in the Space Marine range.

The model at the top right is armed with a plasma gun; the other is another
with a meltagun.

Far left, bottom row: missile launcher. Far right, bottom row: flamer. Older
flamers you may come across have a different appearance, similar to Terminator
heavy flamers:

These are all the common Space Marine weapons - the ones available to most
infantry. Terminator weapons are fairly self-explanatory, as they come in packs
labelled for the particular type of weapon, and the occasional unusual vehicle
weapon (autocannon, Whirlwind multi-launcher or demolisher cannon) is again
reasonably obvious. The two-barrelled bolter in the Rhino kit (also found in
most other Imperial vehicle sets) is a storm bolter.
