Game Masters Wanted
for
Miniature Wargames
at
Dexcon 15 in Morristown
July 4 - 8, 2012
Fellow gamers,
Ive recently been put in charge of promoting more Historical Wargaming
at the Double Exposure convention in July, and would encourage anyone
that wants to run a game, historical or otherwise, to register their
proposal at their website:
http://www.dexposure.com/dexcon15p.html
If you run an event, you get in free. If you need someone to help set
up and run the game with you, we can see about getting them in for free
too, or possibly at a reduced fee. They usually ask you to run your
game twice, or two different games once. You can run more than that if
you want. They have been very accommodating to me. When I have asked
for a specific time or day, the result is usually what I asked for or
close to it.
Theyre also looking for vendors, so if you are a seller of wargame
games and supplies, please contact me too.
If youre in the Morristown area this con is very convenient, its 5
minutes from I-287. Parking is in a covered garage and free. There is
a great deal of room at the Hotel (the Morristown Hyatt & Conference
Center [
morristown.hyatt.com]). If you need to overnight, there are
256 rooms in this hotel, and youd be in the same building as the games,
youd just have to go downstairs. There are a couple of restaurants in
the hotel, and many more within easy walking distance.
If it sounds like I have a personal interest in this, I do. I have
always wanted to be able to go to a wargame con without having to drive
2-3 hours or stay over. As historical wargammers, we could grow this
con into something interesting and worth going to. We just need you!
Respond back to me, even if youre unsure about running a game.

P.S. This con is two weeks before Historicon, so you could try out any
new ideas at Dexcon before that. For those in central or north Jersy,
its certainly a lot closer than Historicon will be this year (Virginia).
My background: Im a historical wargammer for miniatures and boardgaming
with over 40 years of experience. Ive gamed every period from ancients
to sci-fi. Currently Im building a War of the Roses army in 28mm using
the rules set Poleaxed2, and plan to bring it to the con. I have
about 15 miniature armies of various periods, and once owned over 360
boardgames before I stopped counting.
