This would be quite rare as most plastic figures are cast in sprews and
sold in boxes by commercial firms whose board of directors have never
heard of DBA. The prices of boxes is so cheap you can easily buy a 2-3 to
get all you need to make an army, for much less than you would pay for the
lead ones. There must be 3-4 companies that make Celtic types and Romans,
and Hat makes nice Punic war figures. Also Knights, and Moslem types plus
Mongols and Russians are available.

Check here for everything you'd want to know about plastic figures for DBA

Here are some details on some of the Italeri ancients packs, suitable for
DBA:

Greek Infantry (Pack No. 6024)

1 Senior Officer
1 Musician
30 Hoplites (8 poses, 14 figures wielding swords)
i.e. 8 elements of Spears

3 Thracians
i.e. 1 element of Auxilia

6 Archers (all in helmets, 3 with shields)
2 Slingers
2 Javelins
i.e. 5 elements of Psiloi

Persian Infantry (Pack No. 6025)

1 Senior Officer 1
1 Standard Bearer 1
29 Armoured, with bowcase (9 poses, 10 figures using bows, the rest swords
or spears. There are 14 separate pavises)
i.e. 8 elements of Shooters

8 Armoured, without bowcase
i.e. 2 elements of Auxilia

3 Javelins
i.e. 1 element of Psiloi and an extra figure to fill out the shooters
or auxilia

I haven't seen the Macedonian Cavalry or Persian Cavalry packs but the
boxtops on the Italeri website imply a good mix of types, and 1of each pack
(Inf. and Cav.) would make a DBA army.

Mongols (Pack No. 6020)

8 Armoured horses
9 Unarmoured horses

5 "heavy" riders
6 "medium" riders
6 "light" riders
So 2 packs and a couple of light infantry would make an army

Good features of the HaT Industrie Punic Wars packs are that they contain
good proportions of troop types, and they plan a comprehensive range. This
means numerous DBA armies are or will be available.

Actually those Italeri figures are sourced from a Russian
company called Zvezda

http://www.zvezda.org.ru/

(hope you understand Russian ;)

This site is better.

http://feas02.dynu.com/ancientarmies/sets_main.htm

They are the best plastic 1/72 figures i've seen. All figures
are in realistic battle poses and NO trimming is requried.
Only problem is limited number of poses.

i currently have the Ancient Greeks and Persian Immortals,
awaiting persian Cavalry and Romans.

I did Russian at school! Those are both excellent sites- It's interesting to
see that Zvezda appear to be selling battlegame sets as well as simply
figure sets. I agree about the quality- I hope they sell well enough to get
the full range released. On their site, the following sets are described as
"already in production":
8001 Russian warriors ?III-XIVth Century
8002 Crusader Knights
8003 Tataro-Mongols
8005 Greek Infantry
8006 Persian Infantry
8201 Kulikovskaya Battle 1380
8209 Stands (I think)
and the following sets are described as "in production very soon":
8007 Macedonian Cavalry
8203 Battle of Marathon
8208 Er, um "Pravila i Kubik" - dunno, rules and dice maybe??

I see siege machines, war elephants and a Carthaginian Infantry set with box
art showing various Spanish troops in the foreground and a spear phalanx
behind them. Covet, covet covet!!

Try http://www.geocities.com/dbplastic/ This is a NZ site that has posted
that he is offering plastic DBA armies.
He has gone to the trouble of sorting figs from different kits.

He also has scans of Zvezda's Macedonian Cavalry .

I put Zvenzda figures ahead of Hat although Hat's Italian Allies and Roman &
Carthaginian command figures have great possibilities.

I can see Cathaginian Sacred Band in a few boxes of Cart command figures.
