==Overview:==
House Davion and their warriors have always had a facination with
autocannons, and so it was only logical that someone would think of
building a light Mech around one.

In 2975, designers at Madarus were contracted to create a Combat Mech
that would be able to keep up with heavier lancemates, possess jump
capability and, most importantly, carry a large autocannon.

Madarus realized that the best option was to open a small assembly plant
on Novaya Zemlya where the venerable Federated 76mm autocannon is
produced. By July 2976, the new Madarus plant had produced four Uppercut
Mechs and had a lucrative contract with the Federated Suns.

==Capabilities:==
With a maximum speed of 64kph, the Uppercut is rather slow for a light
Mech this was intentional, as it was designed to keep pace with its
heaveier bretheren. The Uppercut was built as a walking, jumping platform
for its Federated autocannon, lending fire support or giving flanking
fire from medium range while the MechWarrior's lancemates kept the enemy
busy.

The Jetlift/35 jump jets produced by Madarus are of sturdy, reliable
construction, able to withstand anything the elements have to offer. The
knee actuators are somewhat fickle however, requiring frequent
maintenance to keep them in working order. The Chevron I armor may be
relatively thin, but the Uppercut was never intended for direct
maneuvers.

Where the Uppercut shines is the autocannon, with a two-ton capacity for
its 76mm shells, the small Mech can keep a running fight going in small
engagements.
