Overview: Created by General Motors as a variant to their successful
Marauder, the Great Sword swaps the Magna Hellstar particle projection
cannons in the arms with their proven Whirlwind fifty-millimeter
autocannon and places one of those PPCs in the dorsal-mount. To
compensate for this increase in weight, two of the Marauder's heat sinks
were removed. Despite the reduction in heat problems at medium to long
ranges, the Great Sword still has problems when unleashing a full alpha-
strike. The MAD-3G has met with rave reviews, however.

Capabilities: All the benefits of a Marauder with less heat trouble at
all but close range, and enough ammunition for twenty second-long bursts
of fire per autocannon, make the Great Sword a formidable opponent on the
battlefield. In a fire-support role, it can fire its twin autocannon and
PPC all day without fear of overheating, and even in a slugging match it
can punch holes in enemy Mechs as long as the pilot is somewhat careful
with his weapons selection.

If there is one flaw with this variant, it may be the potential liability
of an added ton of ammunition, which may touch off if it suffers a hit
from enemy fire before the pilot can unleash all of it upon a foe.
