Andrew Lo asserts that Zhou Mi meant dominoes when referring to pupai, since the Ming author Lu Rong (1436-1494) explicitly defined pupai as dominoes (in regards to a story of a suitor who won a maiden's hand by drawing out four winning pupai from a set).[1]

The above wikipedia link mention something about winning a hand by drawing four particular dominoes. The original source is from The Game of Leaves by Andrew Lo in page 401.

Any more information on this dominoes game mentioned by Andrew Lo? Does 4 combination of dominoes is require to win here and is the combination are four consecutive dominoes in same suit or four dominoes of a kind or something else?

Finally,is this dominoes a trick taking or something like mahjong?

No, it's not a trick taking game. It's a Pai Gow-like game. The Pupai game is detailedly recorded by Jin Xingyuan's "Xuanhe Pu Yapai Huiji" in Qing dynasty.
The game is usually played by 4 players. Each gets 8 tiles in a game. The non-dealers need to form some combinations to compare with the dealer.
