any English term for "捉铳"(zhuo chong)?

Hello all,

Is there any English term for "捉铳"(zhuo chong) or "抓炮"(zhua
pao)? It means that one wins by a discard, opposite to Selfmake.

Hi Ithinc,

One who provides a discard for other to win is called a CHUCKER (sort#
3.1.02 of the World Unified Mahjong Terminology,
http://www.imahjong.com/mruonline1102terminology.html). The purpose of
the term is to identify the player who has caused the loss (in the
"old" days, the chucker pays double the other losing players would
pay).

Winning on a discard is so common it is used to be simply called WIN
("hu" in Chinese). I guess both "zhuo chong" and "zhua pao" are common
nowadays in mainland China hence you have this question. (Is this
correct?)

Selfmake would enable the winner to collect double, hence worthwhile
having a special term. Is there anything special with winning on a
discard, such that it deserves a special term?

Maybe it is not so common, but it really exsits. In CMCR/WMO-MCR, it it
called "点炮和"(dian pao hu) or "点和"(dian hu) and translated to
"By discard", it's not a so good expression. From the discarder's
point, it's a "dian pao"/"fang chong"/chuck; but from the winner's
point, it's a "zhua pao"/"zhuo chong"/"hu chong".

It seems no special thing for the winner when winning on a discard. But
when mentioning the ways to go out, it would be a convenience if we
have one, especially mentioned in the same breath with selfmake.
