Well, as many of you know, the Mud was down today, so the interview
with Ian Finley, author of Babel, has been rescheduled for next
Saturday, April 4, at the same time (1 PM Pacific, 4 PM Eastern, 9 PM
GMT). Thanks also to Matt Kimball, who traced the problem to its
source and told me all about it. If I have time and energy this week,
I will call the folks at Future.com and ask them about next Saturday's
access.

On that note, is the ifMUD up yet, or is it just my access? There
wouldn't be any volunteers for an information service about the MUD's
current state by any chance? I'm usually unable to access the
fovea.retina.net homepage when the MUD is down as well.

My current traceroute to fovea.retina.net goes like this:
7 192.121.154.101 stockholm-ebs3-fe3-0.ebone.net 39 ms
8 192.121.154.157 london-ebs2-h1-0-0.ebone.net 62 ms
9 192.121.154.162 london-ebs3-h0-1-0.ebone.net 65 ms
10 192.121.154.114 Fddi1-0.BR3.LND1.Alter.Net 81 ms

Can someone post the Telnet/Web address for this? Sounds interesting.

Telnet or MUD client: <telnet://fovea.retina.net:4000/>
Web browser: <http://fovea.retina.net:4001/>

It is interesting. The IF enthusiasts and authors who frequent the
MUD are very friendly and helpful.
