just to check in with everyone who's going to play.
I've decided, (ya, I decided--this time only) that the game will
change to Perdition's Flames by Michael J. Roberts. All in
favor---read short review at Baf's. Don't read Spags review until your
finished playing. Spags review will have alot of spoily sort of stuff.
It also makes a better read when your finished with the game. Lots of
topic starters there as well. Get the game, wait for Friday to start
or just go ahead now. All not in favor PLEASE let us know, and please
suggest a differnt game. I'm sort of takeing votes as we go along.

I'm in!

BTW, I'm not sure if a live chat type thing would be
all that good for me, I'm at GMT+08 so finding an
a time that suits us all might be a little difficult.

no live chat. no. no. just post your thoughts as usual. the rest of us
will do the same. just reply to a mesg or even start a new one. we
have around, i think we decided, about 2wks to ruminate about the
game.its all about
1. hints---did you get the answer
2. what your opion of the game is.
3.is it a good one or is it horrable
and MOST importantly encouraging authors to write more games.by our
postings maybe the authors can write games they think we might want.
no live chat. none. nada. wrong place for it anyway.

Just downloaded the game. The manual and hints included seems to require a
program called TeX to properly display or print the manual. A quick look at
the hell.tex files with a text editor does show lots of formatting codes ..
and the text is possible to find and read with effort. Looking at TeX for
windows all I've found is a 20+MB download. That's the whole package (you
can make TeX files) but I was wondering if anyone found a smaller reader
program?

Thanks, W.

An alternative is to upload the .tex file to a unix machine that has LaTeX
installed. You can build a Postscript or PDF file from there. IMNSHO,
those should have been included in the game package.

TeX is a professional typesetting package for producing
technical documents but if you just want to read the
manual I can email you a DVI, PS or PDF version, which
ever you prefer.

A PDF version would probably be most useful to the group. Perhaps this could
be uploaded to the IF Archive so others can read and use. How to do that?
