This would be easy to fake without editing the video.
All one need do is change the conditions beforehand,
and then do a video capture or whatever.

Example, one could change the password beforehand and
then do a video.

You tried to fool us with your Cornel game record, and
at the same time saying Cornel's memory was wrong about
the handicap.

I find it interesting that you claim it would be easy to fake, but do
not outright call it a fake, especially since you would be one who
presumably would have knowledge of his account status? Not to mention
I daresay one might think from comments made on other posts here on RGG
that he might have good reason to think his account has been disabled?

Mef,

He was simply pointing out some of the ways in which the video would be
easy to fake. It doesn't mean that he doesn't know it to be a fake. He
is simply giving us background information.

Not everything needs to be spelled-out.

A nice background info would be to just say if the account is disabled
or not.
Right? :)

If you changed things beforehand, like the password, it
wouldn't matter what you cut and pasted afterwards and
then did a video.

Nothing was modified, your account was not disabled, cleared,
or changed in any form.

User errors (not the first time), or you're fooling around,
just like you tried with the game record between yourself
and Cornel and trying to claim Cornel's memory was wrong about
the game and the handicap. We all know which game was being
referred to, as evidenced by postings by others, including
Cornel.

Your account at IGS doesn't matter anymore. Stay away and
good riddance.

I haven't lied. Your account was not disabled or cleared. It
still works, if you can get in, with the same password.

However, you were banned after these statements by you, which
were made _after_ your video post:

It's good to see that IGS has finally decided to clear up any
ambiguities in their policy about whether or not offline behavior
constitutes grounds for banishment.

Surprising. Can it be said that this was the first instance?

I don't recall ever saying anything about this case. However
I can also supply corroboration: I tried logging in to `tsukino' and
have video evidence to prove that my login did not work properly.

> p.s. sounds like someone is a little sorry they tried to deny me access

You can't just use -your- password. You need to use the password
IGS assigns to you, or the new password that you change at the server.

I then tried logging in as `tweet' and have more video evidence that
this login did not work properly. Perhaps my `tweet' account should be
banned for similar reasons?

Since you've invoked my name, I'll just let the other readers know that
I chatted with an admin on IGS last night, and he told me that system
logs indicate that you changed your password several times. I don't
know, nor care, if you simply forgot which one was current, or are being
deliberately deceptive to cause trouble. btw, that bit with the game
with Cornel was really stupid, did you think other readers wouldn't
catch it? And as for being "banned", if that's truly the case, which
I'm not sure of, the tsukino account is still active in stats, you would
be the first one in several years, and you asked for it. Good riddance.
Nice to see your friends in rec.martial-arts remember you so fondly.

Are you crazy? Everyone knows that IGS accounts are subject

_One_ possible method to fake this would be to have another person
log into your account, while you are videoing your self getting the
password and copying and pasting into whatever, and have that person
change your password. Then your video would show you failing to log
into your account, because the other person changed your password
for you, shortly before your video reached the point where you needed
to enter your password.

Easy and simple.

There are other possible low tech methods, but I see no point in
listing all the ones I could think of, not to mention the high tech
methods such as scripting etc..

If I wanted to ban him at that time, I would have blocked his
IP. Changing the password would have do little to keep him out.
Also the password retrieval program provides whatever password
exists at the time.

Not without cause. The cause is that you criticized IGS and
Tweet in this newsgroup. I got the same treatment for the
same reason.

Now I'm jealous. I had a much harder time getting Tweet to
admit it in my case, and he never did it in public.

Note that you have no cause for complaint, since the IGS user
agreement explicitely states that the admins have discretionary
banning powers: they can ban you (or any other IGS user) for
any reason they want, no matter how unfair.

believe. Are you accusing the IGS admins of lying to me?

Well, tweet said he was banned... *now*, after the video posts.

I though I had it all clear with the IGS policies, banning,
de-registering, and such, but now I am confused again.

Which IGS policy did renli broke to be banned, exactly?
I know he can be obnoxious at times... is that what happened during the

Actually if were were following closely what Oliver said,
this had nothing to do with criticizing IGS and Tweet in
this newsgroup, or 'standing up to bullshit'.

Instead Ollie made accusations and lies, not criticisms.

Bantari makes criticisms against IGS and Tweet, but Ollie
does otherwise.

First, tweet did not quote me. Second, I don't know when any
vote was taken. Third, in this case what are we voting on? Had
I assumed some standpoint or perspective comprising a position?
Fourth, since when does "Renli" qualify himself as a thinker ?
Fifth, how did the majority become a "thinking" group of people?
What happened to the road less travelled in the paths that diverged

Why is one accused for a condition which at one time everyone has?

I believe that Renli thinks it's wrong that IGS admins can freely be as
obscene and abusive as they desire, in public forums, because there is
no one who will ban them!

Of course, the admins aren't being abusive toward IGS itself, or its
proprietors, but rather toward IGS "customers", or other servers'
people. Whether or not the customers "deserve" this treatment isn't
really relevant. The behavior itself is unbecoming... almost like the
IGS admins are often drunk while posting. Do y'all party a lot?

Previously you said ...

"Oh, we know you're an expert on fake images, tweet..."

How would the gallery make me an expert? A team put together
the artwork and pages.

Anyway, a few of the art works, perhaps less than a dozen,
were meant as a joke. The artists rendering a few pictures
thought it was fun, and in some cases the joke would be
obvious. However, a few persons such as yourself and renli would
rather use the art galleries for their own agendas and slander.

Personally, I consider these joke pictures art in themselves.

The USS Monitor picture was clearly meant as a joke. It was
correctly labled in case anyone cared to research the photo.
It is also in the 'Exposition - Parody - Satire' section
from the IGS English home page

I sense a business opportunity here.

He could make a website where he offers his services to the highest bidder,
making similar songs about other people who have pissed someone off. Like
those 10-minute poem writers. After a while he could do several songs a day
for say 100 USD each.

I did not. My post on Oct 13 says I spoke with an admin, whom I did not
name, and that he told me you changed your password several times. I did
not say I was given any logs. That's ridiculous. You're despicable and
deceitful. You make stuff up, then post as though your lies are real.
You live in an amazing fantasy world. Someone recently accused the IGS

How can he produce any logs if he did not receive any?

God knows, I have been crossing words with malf more than probably
anybody here... But fair is fair - malf did not say he received any
logs, just that he was told by *an* admin. And he never named tweet as
the admin who told him either.

> I *DEFY* you to produce the logs.

Sigh...
Just re-read what malf said.
I *DEFY* you to learn to read. :)

If you want to bash malf, there is enough legitimate stuu to do it for.
But he did *not* post he was given any logs. Just that he was "told"
about you changing passwords.

Just to make it easy for you, here is the exact quote:

I chatted with an admin on IGS last night, and he told me that system

I draw your attention, in particular, to the words "told" and "an

Once more, if you can't be bothered to read the actual post, I'll quote
from it. From my post of Oct 13:

"Since you've invoked my name, I'll just let the other readers know that

I chatted with an admin on IGS last night, and he told me that system

logs indicate that you changed your password several times."

_NOWHERE_ did I ever say that I was ever given any logs. Just another of
your deceitful and deceptive lies.

Your quest is in vain, I'm afraid.
I've been there, I know. :(

> Again. I DEFY malf and tweet to produce such logs. If they cannot, then
> they are liars.

No.

In the worst case scenario (for them), i.e. if you are correct, the
mysterious unnamed admin might be a liar. Or he might be simply
mistaken. Malf is just repeating what he hears (as so often, sigh), and
tweet might not even have anything to do with that.

You cannot call malf a liar for failing to produce a log he never
claimed to have had or even seen. Period. Calling tweet a liar in this
particular case is even more off the mark. All he claimed is that you
are now banned (from what I understand), so to prove him a liar you
need to proved you are not banned. :)

Wishful thinking is a powerful weapon, but for your enemies. :)

My advice is - spend your time on better things than barking up this
tree.
If you really want to "get" malf or tweet, you have to search the
archives for a better material, I'm afraid. On this one, they appear
clean. No matter how much you wish it was otherwise.
