Hi,

Here is a nice friendly topic for everyone tonight. I have only been
playing a few years, but the hand that moves my strings has been playing
since about 1979. That's almost 30 years. Probably 20 of them were pretty
dry with out the internet however.

Regards,

Big Duck

PS: I just saw a topic on godiscussions.com called :

"New Stones"

Geez, they are allowing woman to talk about their sex changes over there?
And then have the gall to complain about jb's posts about sam sloan and
chess over here? Gimme a friggen break!

Played my first game, against a fellow beginner, about 1966. Second game
was maybe 3 years later against a shodan. A couple years after that I
moved to the East Bay for a few more years and could play more. But after
that I was totally dependent on the excellent work of John Power.

I first discovered go in 1976, my first year in college. I didn't play
much, but learned to keep my eyes open for the game. In the early 80s I
actually bought a set, but didn't play more than a few games. Then
around 1990, I lived in town with a small go club, and learned a bit
more. Finally, when I got unmetered Internet access in 1995, I started
playing on NNGS, then KGS when it came around.

Hi Big Duck,

I learnt to play in 1969 from a fellow student.
And two weeks ago, I played him again for the first time since the '70s in the bar of the Russell Hotel in London.
We used my new bamboo board to play.

My rather modest contribution to the topic of Fourier "waves" is at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mullens/richard/GraphApplet.html

It's not hard to learn but hard to master.
There are many beginner courses available on the internet
for free, give it a try.

I started to play Go about 3 years ago , but im just 19 years old.

Is anyone playing on KGS ?
