Some Background...

We've decided to sell my husband's old roleplaying equipment in the hopes
of financing some upcoming home improvement. He's letting me run this
auction for the experience.

We've decided to run this as an auction, not a sale, mostly for the simple
reason that we have no idea what any of this stuff is worth! An auction
seems to be the best way to get rid of everything (our main goal) and
offer it for a price that makes everyone happy.

The old Dragon magazines are a little dog-eared and the modules have all
been read, but unless otherwise noted, everything is in great shape. To
make sure we were giving unbiased listings, we've rated the conditions
of items together and agreed on the following descriptions:

NM = NEAR MINT: Can anything be MINT? This item is almost perfect;
it looks the same as the day it was put on the shelf
at the store. There might be some minor crease hidden
somewhere but this shouldn't be a problem unless
you're buying for the Smithsonian.

G = GOOD: Some minor shelf wear and/or cover creases. This
item looks like it was put on the shelf last week and
read once or twice.

F = FAIR: The same as GOOD, only more so. The item has
seen better days. While complete, it has wear and/or cover
creases. This item looks like it fell off the shelf in the
book store and has been read a number of times.

P = POOR: Beaten, very used but complete unless otherwise
marked. If present, the cover is ripped or badly worn.
Someone may have written hit point totals in the margins,
etc. If no one bids on these, we'll probably just end
up sticking these items in for the heck of it on any
large orders we get.

cpc This means a clear plastic cover protector was
added to the item.

Most items are in the condition listed or better; we were kind of tough on
conditions. If you have any questions, please ask *before* bidding: due to
the large number of items, we can not accept items returned to us based on
your not agreeing with our condition.

Auction Rules...

1) Auction starts Dec 3rd and runs until all items are gone.

2) I will post updates every three days not counting weekends at or around
the following times: Monday (11PM), Wednesday (11PM) and Friday (11PM)
(all EST).

3) Bids will be placed in the order they are received. If you are
interested in an item, please let me know by email with the proper subject
line and I'll put you on the list. If there is more than one of the items
in question, please be sure to let me know which one you're bidding on. My
email address is:
VYusc...@aol.com

If your email isn't clear, I will do my best to reply to you for
clarification, but I will give precedence to those who took the time to
make their bid(s) clear.

4) The minimum bid for any item is $1. The minimum raise to anyone else's
bid is also $1. All bids are in US dollars.

5) I don't want bidding to get too complicated, so I'm using the rules
I've seen here in this newsgroup. If there is no activity on an item for
3 days, it will be marked GOING, three days later it will be marked
GOINGX2 and three days later it will be SOLD! to the highest bidder. In
order to
prevent last minute bidding, the bidder at whose bid the items were
marked "GOING" will have an opportunity to respond. Like others, I just
want to make things as fair as possible.

6) PLEASE don't bid more than you plan to pay. I've heard of people
withdrawing their bids and that gets really annoying to everyone. If the
top buyer withdraws I'll move down the list to the previous bidder.

7) After an item is marked GONE! it will be removed from the list. The
winning bidder becomes the Buyer and is responsible for paying all
shipping and handling costs. Since the buyer pays for the shipping, the
method of shipping is up to buyer. I will use cheapest (US Mail) unless
instructed otherwise. I will e-mail the buyer direct to inform them of the
date of
shipment. I will also package all items securely in padded containers
or between cardboard. Cost of packaging (including anything special) is
also the responsiblity of the buyer but shouldn't amount to much.

8) Payment may be made in cash, money order or personal check. In the case
of a personal check, I will wait for the check to clear before sending
the item(s) out.

9) I reserve the right to withdraw any item at any time for any reason.

10) Finally, I'm not looking for buyouts or trades of any type at this
time.

I know it sounds like a lot, but I figure it's better to say it all now,
to everyone interested, than to have to do it later, individually.

Thanks for reading all that,
Vickie
