Staring a small group of complete noobs on Pathfinder. These are guys
who've never played tabletop RPGs at all.

Does anyone know of an adventure that's (1) available free online, and
(2) suitable for a single session with first level characters? I have
a couple of modules, but they're... well, modules. I'd like a single
scenario that can be played in a few hours.

Many thanks in advance,

Hollow's Last Hope. Grab the characters and module from there. Hmm,
direct links I see,

http://paizo.com/download/gamemastery/HollowsCharacters.pdf
http://paizo.com/download/gamemastery/D0-HollowsLastHope.zip

should work, or you might need a login. Characters and module are
3.5, but close enough. Pretty long night to finish in one go, but you
don't see many shorter than that.

Hunt around the one page dungeon sites, maybe.

It's D&D 3.5, but "Dark & Stormy Knight" from WotC is a serviceable,
free, 1st-level mini-adventure that might suit your needs with minimal
conversion:

Ah-ha. I like the idea, and it can be quickly adapted to fit.

Setup: PCs camp in a cave to escape bad weather. Then suddenly: an
avalanche! The torrential rain causes a mudslide, bottling them up in
the cave... but also opening a previously hidden secret door in the
back.

If anyone is a bard, or has the appropriate Knowledge skill, they'll
recall a song or legend about an ogre bandit who grabbed people from a
cave by means of a secret door in the back. A wizard sealed the door
magically, trapping the ogre and his servants inside forever.

Stuff in the cave (subject to time constraints):

some skeletons
a rat swarm (rat tunnels throughout the hill, they're panicked by the
mudslide) (avoidable with clever play)
a giant spider (lives on the rats)
maybe a simple trap
maybe a water hazard, like a corridor that's been cracked open by the
mudslide and is now filling with cold water and mud
boss encounter: a zombie ogre. That would be like CR 3, so I may give
the PCs something to help first, like maybe a scroll with a couple of
second level spells.

If we run short on time I'll fast forward to that last one.

Thank you!

Well, there's the Free RPG day offering: Master of the Fallen Fortress

It's pretty much exactly what you're asking for. It even includes a
half-dozen pregen characters, (one each of the APG classes).

Hey, that sounds fun! I sometimes GM one-shots, this one is perfect
for such a... stormy night.

Thanks. *snatch*

Works better than the WotC adventure as published, which is more than
a little contrived.
