Oof. Classes are taking longer than I'd expected. ^_^; This is
mainly just to test the format I'm using... the martial artist class.

MARTIAL ARTIST

The martial artist represents those warriors of Suikoden who rely on
technique and speed. Some wield exotic weaponry; others train until
their bodies alone are lethal weapons.

Examples: Kai (Suikoden) and Nanami (Suikoden II) are Martial Artists.
Sakura (Suikoden I and II) is a Martial Artist/Rogue.

[Hm, looks like that format won't quite work...]

Abilities: The martial artist relies largely on speed, so Dexterity
is important. Strength helps the martial artist inflict more damage,
while Constitution helps her last longer in combat. Wisdom is
important to the more mystical of the martial artists.
Hit Die: d8

Class Skills
The class skills of the Martial Artist are Balance (Dex), Climb (Str),
Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist
(Dex), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (mysticism)
(Int), Jump (Str), Move Silently (Dex), Perform (Cha), Profession
(Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), and Tumble (Dex).
Skill Points Per Level: 4 + Int modifier

Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The Martial Artist is proficient with
all simple melee weapons and with light armor (but not shields).

Feat: At level 1, and every four levels thereafter, the martial
artist gains a bonus feat from the following list: Combat Martial
Arts, Combat Reflexes, Improved Bull Rush, Improved Critical, Improved
Disarm, Improved Trip, Martial-Arts Weapon Proficiency, Two-Weapon
Fighting, or Weapon Focus. The martial artist must meet all
prerequisites of the feat.

Evasion: At level 2, the martial artist gains the extraordinary
ability to avoid area-effect damage. In any situation where a Reflex
save for reduced damage is possible, the martial artist takes no
damage on a successful save. She still takes full damage on a failed
save. This ability cannot be used if the martial artist is wearing
medium, heavy, or ultraheavy armor, or is carrying more than a light
load.

Ability: At level 1, and at every odd-numbered level where she does
not gain a bonus feat, the martial artist may choose a class ability
from the following list. All abilities will not work while wearing
medium, heavy, or ultraheavy armor, unless otherwise noted.

* Blind-Fighting: The martial artist gains Blind-Fight as a bonus
feat. This ability works in heavier armor.

* Blindsight: The martial artist gains Blindsight with a 10' radius.
Prerequisites: Blind-Fight feat, Uncanny Dodge 2, Wis 15+.

* Bonus Feat: The martial artist may choose a bonus feat from the
list given in the description of "Feat" above. This ability works in
heavier armor.

* Deep Focus: The martial artist may apply her Wisdom bonus to melee
damage rolls instead of her Strength bonus.

* Elusive Target: The martial artist may add +1 or her Wisdom bonus,
whichever is greater, as a dodge bonus to her Defense. This is in
addition to her usual Dexterity modifier. This ability may be chosen
multiple times; the second and subsequent choices increase the
character's bonus by +1.

* Flurry of Blows: The martial artist gains the ability to make a
rapid flurry of blows when full-attacking with her bare hands or with
a simple or martial-arts weapon with which she is proficient. She may
make one extra attack at her highest attack bonus, but all attacks
made that round suffer a -2 penalty.

* Improved Evasion: The martial artist's Evasion ability improves.
She takes no damage on a successful save, and only half damage on a
failed save. Prerequisites: Evasion, base Reflex save +5 or higher.

* Improved Speed: The martial artist's base movement rate increases
by 10'. This ability may be chosen multiple times and stacks. This
ability partially works in heavier armor; the speed bonus is reduced
to 5' in medium or heavy armor, and to 0 in ultraheavy armor.

* Improved Unarmed Damage: The martial artist's unarmed damage
increases: d6 to d8, d8 to d10, d10 to d12, d12 to 2d8, 2d8 to 2d10,
and so forth. This ability may be chosen multiple times, and
functions even in heavier armor. Prerequisite: Improved Unarmed
Strike feat.

* Predictive Insight: The martial artist may add +1 or her Wisdom
bonus, whichever is greater, as an insight bonus to her initiative
rolls. This bonus applies in addition to her normal Dexterity
modifier. This ability may be chosen multiple times; the second and
subsequent choices increase the character's bonus by +1.

* Rapid Strike: The martial artist gains the ability to make two
melee attacks as a standard action, instead of one. However, both
attacks suffer a -2 penalty to the attack roll. Prerequisites:
Flurry of Blows, Wis 13+.

* Uncanny Dodge 1: The martial artist retains her Dexterity bonus to
Defense (and any dodge bonuses to Defense) even when she is
flat-footed. She cannot be sneak-attacked unless she is flanked or
immobilized.

* Uncanny Dodge 2: The martial artist can react to multiple enemies
all around her as easily as to a single enemy. She can no longer be
flanked. She cannot be sneak-attacked unless she is immobilized.
Prerequisite: Uncanny Dodge 1.

* Weapon Finesse: The martial artist may apply her Dexterity modifier
to attack rolls with a chosen melee weapon instead of her Strength
modifier. Unlike the feat, this ability may be applied to any simple
or martial-arts weapon, even if that weapon is not 'light' for the
character. This ability may be taken multiple times and does not
stack. A different weapon must be chosen each time. Prerequisite:
Proficiency with the weapon.
