A Wizard of the White Robe can cast spells only from the following:
Abjuration
Charm
Conjuration
Divination
Enchantment
Evocation
Spell progression for White Robes is different than for standard D&D
mages. Following is the advancement chart:
Level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
------ - - - - - - - - -
4 3 2
5 4 2 1
6 4 2 2
7 4 3 2 1
8 4 3 3 2
9 4 3 3 2 1
10 4 4 3 2 2 1
11 4 4 4 3 3 2 1
12 4 4 4 4 4 3 2 1
13 5 5 5 4 4 3 2 1
14 5 5 5 4 4 3 2 1
15 5 5 5 5 5 3 2 2 1
16 5 5 5 5 5 4 2 2 1
17 5 5 5 5 5 4 3 3 2
18 5 5 5 5 5 4 3 3 3
In Dragonlance, also, there can be only ONE 18th level wizard of each
color at any one time, and that wizards title is "Master"
Just for completion sake, I'll post the Moons of Magic rules, also:
First off, Krynn has THREE moons, just to get a starting point. Wizards
of the White get thier powers from Solinari (Black Robes: Nuitari, Red
Robes: Lunitari). The following table are the effect the moons phases and
alignments of said moon have on spell casting.
Moon Phase Saving Throw Additional Spells Effective Level
---------- ------------ ----------------- ---------------
Low Sanction -1 0 -1
Waning Normal 0 Even
Waxing Normal +1^ Even
High Sanction +1 +2^ +1*
*Wizard must be on 6th level or higher and have an intelligence of 15 or
above to gain this benefit.
^Spells can be of any level the wizard can cast.
Moon Alignment Save Add. Spells Effective Level
-------------- ---- ----------- ---------------
Sol. with Lun. +1 +1 +1
Nuit. with Lun. +1 +1 +1
Sol. with Nuit +1 0 Normal
All Three Moons +2 +2 +1
Note that the plusses on the Moon Alignment table are cumulative with the
plusses on the Moon Phase table (ie. All three moons aligned at High
Sanction would give a wizard +3 saving throw, 4 additional spells, and a
+2 to their effective level of casting (for range, damage, duration,
etc).

Don't forget to mention that they use different experience level
advancements than the other mages do too- I don't have my DL boxed set
(I think it's long lost in my friend's house), but I know they need
many more XPs to go up in levels than Red- and Black-robes do.

First off, all mages of Krynn can cast ANY spell from ANY school with
the following restrictions. The mage cannot cast spell of 4th level or
higher from barred schools (see below). Also, the wizard must not have
more than half of his spells from barred schools.
Allowed Schools for White Robe Mages
-Abjuration, Alteration, Conjuration/Summoning,
Enchantment/Charm, Greater Divination,
Invocation/Evocation
Allowed Schools for Red Robe Mages
-Abjuration, Alteration, Conjuration/Summoning,
Enchantment/Charm, Illusion/Phantasm,
Invocation/Evocation
Allowed Schools for Black Robe Mages
-Abjuration, Alteration, Conjuration/Summoning,
Enchantment/Charm, Necromancy,
Invocation/Evocation, Greater Divination
Did that help? I hope so.
It did. Thanks to all who answered me...
(My character already lives in interesting times...)
