Could anyone send me the stats for the holy sword Chrysomer(?). I'm
missing the appendix. Thanks a lot.

Chrysomer

Type: Longsword +5
Alignment: Lawful Good
Type: Holy Avenger
Intelligence: 17
Ego: 38
Total Personality Strength: 55

When used by a Lawful Good non-paladin, it appears to be a longsword +2.

If used by a non-Lawful Good being, it will wait until it is being used
in combat and shock the user for 38 hp electrical damage (no saving
throws or resistance applies unless of divine origin).

It has standard Holy Avenger abilities (see DMG) plus:

1. Detect Evil (2" range on command)
2. Detect Shifting Rooms and Walls (1" range on command)
3. Detect Magic (1" range on command)
4. Read Languages (on command or voluntarily by sword)
5. Read Magic (on command or voluntarily)
6. Telepathy between sword and user (at will)
7. Regenerate 1 hp/round on user (automatic)
8. Teleport (with user) 1/day, improve chance of success by 5%,
initiative penalty 2, maximum weight 600 lbs.

Special Purpose: Defeat Chaos.
Power: Any creature with an alignment that includes Chaotic
must make a saving throw versus spells or be paralyzed
1d4 rounds.

Languages: Lawful Good, Common, Dwarvish, Halfling, Fire Giant, Gold
Dragon, High Elvish.

When a paladin touches Chrysomer, it informs him or her of its name and
abilities in the order given above, at a rate of 10 items per round. It
demands that 5,000+ gp worth of gemstones (ruby, emerald or diamond) be
mounted upon it per month, otherwise it withholds its powers. It
currently has 50,000 worth of gems on its hilt.

A paladin has a Total Personality Strength of Intelligence + Charisma +
level. If Chrysomer's TPS is higher than the paladin's, it will control
the paladin and force him or her to go on great and glorious quests
(without needlessly endangering them). A controlled paladin introduces
him or herself by both names (e.g. "We are Athelstan Chrysomer").
Chrysomer is a jealous sword and does not allow a controlled paladin to
use any other magic sword.

'course when I created that (back in the 70s), the *real* stats were a secret,
'cause the paladin still had it. And still does, last I looked.

But that's correct as to what I released for public use.

Hey, Randy Rice of the burbs west of Philly, and player of the famed paladin,
do you come around here at all?

I had a book years ago that had Chrysomer and Excalibur and other items. Can anyone tell me what the name of the book was?

I vaguely recall Role Aids had a sourcebook with stats of legendary
magic items. I think it was called Fantastic Treasures.
