Located in the Northern most edge of the Earthspine Moutains along the
coast line of the famous Moonsea lies Ironfang Keep. No one knows when
this keep was build or who built it. It is reputed to be the home of a
family, school or community of powerfully wizards. No one has ever seen
these wizards or whatever resides in the keep, but there is evidence
that someone or something lives there. Occasionally a caravan of cargo
is delivered to the Keep's main gate, but the drivers who stop there
know nothing.

Such powerfull wizards as ELMINSTER of Shadowdale, Khelben
Blackstaff, The Red Wizards of Thay, and the Cloaks have not been able
to get inside or even get information about the Keep. Queries to Gods,
even those such as Deneir, yeild no information. No one has approched
Ironfang sience the Time of Troubles. The Keep seems to be protected by
3 circular zones of which can not be detected by anymeans. The first is
400 feet wide dead magic zone, the second is a 200 foot wild magic zone,
and the last is 100 foot massive reverse gravity that affects the air
above. The zones make it inpossible to approach via any magical means.
A wish or limited wish will not even get entrance in. There are no
windows and no way of climbing the black basalt walls. There is a
single entrance to the keep, a stone arch way with a iron door set into
it. No magic, weapons, or even artifacts have any effect on the door.
Anyone touching the door is instantly teloported and all those with in
50 ft radius randomly some place on contenent. Legend states that one
person accually penetrated the keep but he was found later in the
wasteland of Thar. He was completly mad and could only mutter one word
"Green".

SO... Here is my Question

What is in there and is there anyway of getting inside???
also is there any information (Books or modules) about Ironfang Keep.
If you know anything about this or know someone who might please
respond!

Thank You,

Brian

Could always yell out, "Hallooooo". Or plane walk.
I doubt those protection fields extend too far into
the planes.

But really, if nothing is known about the place or its
inhabitants, I would just leave it alone.

But if you're really wanting to get in... a
Specialty Priest of Mystra could help.

Find out whether these zones extend into the Astral and Ethereal planes.

Just make it up. I believe that this is one of those areas that
just supplies a really neat idea and leaves it up to the DM to
do what he wants with it. Maybe have the PC's discover that the
keep is the lair of the mages that are causing the Anauroch Desert
to expand (as per my campaign). They will have to run around trying
to get backup from the surrounding countries/cities, then try to
enter the Keep and destroy the mages. Epic Quest time, everyone ;>

Actually, the first thing that popped into my mind when I read this big
description was "the Magister". Now, if the Magister was to reside there,
I would not suggest you approaching at any cost. After reading about Ed
Greenwood's rendition of the Magister in "Making of a Mage", I would want
nothing to do with it.

Try this... the reverse gravity is only in the air above, no?
WALK TO THE DOOR!!! Then try some daring method of opening the door
like:
Pick the lock
Pry it open
Use a 50lb warhammer
Dynamite? C4?
Knock(no, not the spell) and ask them to let you in REAL nice?

However, if you do so, the French will taunt you and launch farm animals
and Trojan Badgers at you ;)

"We already have one!"

Passwall specifically DOES NOT allow passage through iron! Since Phase Door is
described thus: "When this spell is cast, the Wizard attunes his body and a
section of wall is affected as if by a Phase Door spell" this probably will not
work either. I'd imagine all AD&D castles might have iron bars set into the
walls to stop Wizards walking through them at the head of an army.

It's where they've placed Barney and Gary Gygax, so that the
two may battle until the end of time without destroying civilization.

I would have thought it was obvious, by now. That's where the FR Magic
Cards are made. They'll be released any day now.

Sorry, implied was the use of the spell on the wall instead of the
door.

Does phase door work on iron? I *think* so. (DHTBIFOM)

The keep is the test of munchkins. Those who take it for earnest or who have
ventured inside and maybe even conquered it are sure to be doomed and to be
thrown into the salt mines of WALDORF II.
