I'm a little confused about the stats for the raven as a familiar in
Pathfinder. I don't have the book version of the Bestiary, so I'm
using the stats posted on the website. From

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsters/familiar.html

we get the stats below.

Towards the top they mention Perception +6, lower down under skills
they say Perception +3. Is one just a typo? I'm also not sure how
they're figuring things. Is it 1 Rank, 2 Wis, 3 Class Skill to get 6?
Or without Class Skill to get 3?

For Fly they have +6. Is that no ranks, just 2 for dex and 4 for size
(tiny)? It seems odd that a creature that depends so heavily on
flying wouldn't have a single rank in it. But if it had 1 rank, it
would then get 3 for class skill (per PF Core Rules on the fly skill,
everything that has a fly speed treats flying as a class skill). That
would mean 10 in fly. So perhaps there are so few skill points for
animals (1? 2?) that it simply can't get a rank in flying.

Of course, when the spellcaster can fly every day then he/she could
take ranks in fly and the familiar would get them also - and pick up
those class skill points at that time.

Checking the book, it looks like the +3 is a typo. It has +6 for both.

It does seem that the default location for a raven's skill point is
Perception.

Fly is one of those skills where a little goes a long way. +6 is enough
to take 10 on most things a bird is likely to do.

2+IntMod per HD, (min 1/HD), which boils down to 1/HD for most Animals.

Yep, you could also choose to place the skill point in Fly.

Hey. Way late, but no one else answered on my feed. Got to be a typo,
can't get +3 in any legal way. 1 skill point for Int 2.

Fly +2 Dex, +4 Size = +6.
Perception +2 Wis, +1 point, +3 class skill = +6.

And yes, the book says +6. Though it also says Fly +5, so they fixed
half of it and broke the other half. 8]
