"I'm sorry to inform you that this site is no more.
Wizards of the Coast asked me to take it down, and I complied.
I'm sorry for all the fans who will miss it - I will miss it, too - but
it was the right thing to do.
Time to move on...
Ema. "
Fricking great. Way to go WotC/Hasbro!
Does anyone have a copy of his 3.5e sheets that I could get? I have an
older version I saved off but I know there was a later one because I
printed and used that for my last character.
Looks like this happened back in February.
Maybe WotC execs are taking PR lessons from Games Workshop...

Their minis suck, too.

I wish WotC was still using the OGL (well, I wish they were using a
Creative Commons license, since that's a far superior license), but
it's worth noting a couple of things about Ema's case...
1. He'd started charging people money.
2. He was using the D&D logo on his sheets.
3. He was providing verbatim rules text from the books.
4. The C&D didn't ask him to take down his entire site.
So you /could/ still have his 3.5 character sheets, but he elected to take
them away.
There's a guy who's a volunteer community lead over at the LFR boards on
WotC's site. His signature advertises http://www.dungeoncrawl.us/, which
has a pretty complete set of power cards including the rules. He doesn't
charge anything for the service; he's never gotten a C&D.
So, you know. I don't like unwritten rules, because it's too easy for them
to change or be misunderstood. On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of
charging money for work other people have done, either.
Oh, and this may help: http://pdfdatabase.com/index.php?q=ema+s+character+sheets

Thank you. Unfortunately that sheet is an even older version than the
one I archived.
Foo. There were a few there, so I was optimistic.
I think that was the general thrust of the comment.

Seeing as D&D isn't the only roleplaying gaming rules system in
existence, it *is* extremely rude to publish material specific for D&D
(or d20) without clearly indicating that the material is of no use to
people who use other kinds of roleplaying gaming rules systems.

Yes, of course. But there is a difference between saying "D&D" and using
the logo.
