Hi!

Once again I am trying to wrap my head around the matrix rules and as
always I do not really understand it :(
Maybe someone here can answer me some questions, I am speaking about
SR4-rules.

a) Is it correct that attributes are more or less unimportant?
Everything is done via skill+program or is it like in Serbitar's mod:
attribute+skill and hits are restricted by program level?

b) When I have an account in a system. Why should IC bother me?
Especially if I have a security- or admin-account?

c) If I have an admin-account. Can I do anything including controlling
the IC?

d) How do you use the AR in your games and how do you represent it?

e) I know that there are rules for upgrading my stuff. But how can I
do it w/ money? Let's say I have a drone and want to increase the
signal rating from 3 to 6, what would it cost to do so? Or where can I
find something about it?

f) Am I doing something wrong or is hacking in the SR4-rules
incredible easy and in the Serbitar-rules incredible hard?

g) How do you construct your nodes and "user-rights" in systems?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Attributes are not ass important in the matrix combat and hacking on
the fly. I think this is to show that training is more important then
raw talent.

IC is security if you don't question anything then your security is a
joke. It is like asking for ID when you buy smokes or booze. The
people that are allowed to buy it don't mind the little bit f time to
have ID verified.

Again I think this is a security needing to be a bit more independent
from people that way not just anyone could hack an admin account and
shut down all the IC in a system and have a free for all.

The AR is everywhere and each place should be a little different. I
use AR as a second way to describe everything. I feel that if a city
is Wireless then there is AR. Also you could have places that have no
AR. It is all personal preference

I think if you are going to buy upgrades you would pay the difference
between the two. Or if your GM is a hardass he could make you pay for
the new one at full price and then you would have to sell the old
pieces. as for where to find it look in the Gear se3ction or in
Arsenal I am sure there is something in both about this.

I don't know about how Serbitar did it but hacking is one thing that
can get out of hand pretty quick but then most of the systems in SR
can do that.

Your nodes are constructed by getting systems and computers attached
to them. As for user-rights the character would set those up but most
of those already exist as written.

Just my take on these.
