Yesterday I fired up my empire client, logged into one of the blitz
games (port 6789) did some goofing around and quit. Today when I
returned to that same country, it is in an untouched state, with the
two sanctuary sectors. What happened to the stuff I did. I know about
the reset on Sunday's, but this is in the middle of the week on
Thursday. This has happened a few times, but I assumed that someone
was just manually restarting the blitz game. Now I am starting to
wonder if I have been connecting to the server at all. Have I been
just putsing around on my local machine? Using the old school command
line empire client, how can I tell if I am actually connecting to the
client?

Jayson:

I believe if you are connecting on port 6789, that's the Changling
blitz. That blitz, since it has updates every 10 minutes, resets daily -
which is why you return to an untouched state.

The only way to putz around on your local machine is to actually
setup/install the server software on the machine, and then execute the
emp_server binary - I don't think this can really happen by accident.
Since you're connecting to port 6789, you would have to have manually
changed econfig to that port before running the server

Changling - resets daily
Zebra - resets weekly

That explains it then. I was under the impression that the reset was
once a week, and not once a day.
