I'm sure this has been asked on this group before, and many others, and
I've usually scoffed when I've seen it, but could people PULEEZ try to
include the name of the game in the title. I'm just on the group for
the new Star Trek game, and even with my extensive kill file, I still have
to sort thru about 300 posts a day (God forbid when I spend a day away
from the net.)

So [MtG], [ST:CCG], etc...Puleez. In the interest of netiquette.

Cheers,

For all I know, if it doesn't say anything it means MtG.
If it's something else it should say in the title line.
I think new groups should be created seperatly for the others since
MtG itself would still be a huge group. If STN, On The Edge etc. are
not enough to make agroup of their own they may be grouped together.
In any case it would clearly reduce the amount of time wasted trying
to find what you want. I is just too anoying to try to find On The
Edge articles in this ocean of MtG etc.

From what I have seen, it's about time somebody started another group for
the non-Magic games anyway. Any volunteers?

It's already done, and it's called rec.games.trading-cards.misc. It was
created about a week or two ago after about a month of discussion
(required by USENET regulations, I believe) and a month-long voting
period, where it was
passed by a vote of something like 350-50.

Since the charter for rec.games.deckmaster specifically states that it is
a newsgroup for _all_ trading-card games, then it would indeed be a good
idea for everyopne to preface their subjects with "JYHAD:", "MAGIC:",
OnTE:", "SPELLFIRE", etc.

Many of the Magic players are used to being the only game in town (pun kinda
half-intended) and don't generally do this, but we all should start.

Either that, or work on creating a rec.games.deckmaster.* hierarchy
(which I believe is in thwe works).

I agree, Jyhad has its own group (rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad) why
not Magic? Leave the deckmaster group as the catch all group.

This is what the recent voting and reorganization was all about. It's
already been done. The new groups exist. They are:

rec.games.trading-cards.announce
rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad
rec.games.trading-cards.magic.misc
rec.games.trading-cards.magic.rules
rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy
rec.games.trading-cards.marketplace
rec.games.trading-cards.misc

Enjoy!
