[Space] Alpha Tester Response

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my poll of
potential alpha testers. In two days I got about 50 responses and
out of those 90% were positive. I don't know if 50 is a large or
small number for this type of thing though.
Well I just got some ftp space yesterday and I will be putting
information about the game there. Look for a post on
rec.games.trading-cards.misc in the next week with the ftp
address. By the way if you use netcom as your connection provider
(or maybe even if you don't) please let them know that they need a
http server real bad. For now ftp will half to do.
I got a lot of questions along with the responses and I was unable
to respond to all of them personally so I will try to answer the
most common ones hear. You might consider this the beginning of a
Space faq.
Q) Will one deck be a enough to play?
I am not sure yet, the 60 cards for $8.00 was just a ruff
estimate. It does seem that people want to be able to play with
one deck. It will depend on how things go with the printer.
Q) Will there be rare, common, and uncommon cards?
Yes.
Q) How much time does one 2 player game usually take?
about 30 minutes.
Q) How much room do you need to play?
About the same as magic maybe more if you have a lot of planet
cards in your deck. Having more than three planets does not work
very well because you spread yourself to thin.
Q) Am I hopping to get a company to pick up my game?
If any one is interested in financing this game please let me
know.
Q) Will there be a beta release and when will it be?
I sure hope so but it depends on this alpha release.
Q) Do you plan to post the rules somewhere?
Yes I am currently working on putting them in html format as well
as putting the finishing touches on them. I want to make sure
they are very clear. Right now I am putting in more examples.
Look for the rules to be on my ftp sight in a week or so.
Q) Can I order now?
No right now I am just testing interest and getting information
about the game out. I don't expect cards to be available until
April 95 at the earliest.
