UW1: finding Garamon's bones

I'm at the end of my quest in Ultima Underworld 1, with all 8 Talismans. All
I need to do is find Garamon's bones. I heard they are in the SW of level 8
(perhaps from this Carasso I don't remember talking to). I see only 3 ways
into level 8, and the westerly one has no hidden doors that I can see. All
the online hints are vague on how to find his bones (except that I will find
runestones with, including Vas).

If you've finished the game or have any ideas, please let me know! It's so
close!! Arrgh! :)

You need to go down the stairs behind Tyball's lair in the SE region of Level 7.
Then just keep going west as far as you can across the lava. Once in the far SW
region of the level, head north a bit. IIRC theres a golem in the area which
makes a fair marker - if you can beat it.

Won't be a problem. However, where does one find the crown that enables you
to "conquer the maze?" I did Tyball's maze the hard way (by inches) on my
way to saving the maiden & don't want to do it again!

If you have picked up some bones and want to be sure if they are the
right ones,
put them into water or lava. Only Garamon's bones are not destroyed (as
with all
other really important items).

Alternately, you can try to stack the bones in a pile. All bones except for Garamon's
will just add like coins. Garamon's bones will not stack with the others.
