As you may have remarked, I am developping suicidal tendencies. It was in
this state of mind that I explored the Ophid caves below the Terathan Keep,
going much further than ever before. To be completely honest (modesty is a
curse...), by the time I got there, I was a ghost.
It appeared that if you enter the caves south of the bottom level of the
Keep, and then go west a long way, and if you manage to survive the really
impressive ophid army gathered there, which incidentally I doubt to be
possible even for a small group as there were really ophids EVERYWHERE and
there's hardly any room to move, but revenons ą nos moutons before I lose
myself in Rotundlike ramblings...
Where was I? Ah, yes...
IF you go to the far west and live, you eventually find a tightrope leading
across a small pit. On the other side of the tightrope, there's a lever.
Now, I have yet to find the first lever that actually does something in this
game (I remember the exciting days of my youth when I first entered the Brit
sewers, pulled a lever and waited for the earth to swallow me...). On the
other hand, it would seem unfair even by OSI standards to put a lever in
such a godforsaken place, and not give it a function.
So what does it do???
The tightrope, in case you are wondering, can really be walked on, though
you'll slip off if you try to run through Ophid nr. 784b, who's guarding it.
If you look on your radar, you can see the star chamber to the south.
Which brings me to my second subject:
How do you get to the Star Chamber? I know it's been asked before, but the
site with the directions that I bookmarked
(http://www.mastersage.com/main/misc/maps/starchamber.htm) , seems to be
gone. I'd still like to go there some time.
And now for my third subject:
I had noticed before that ophidians and terathans are not very much on
speaking terms. If you get them together, they usually call each other
names, although that won't stop them from forming a devil's pact and
attacking you together. In those abandoned caves though, where I doubt any
human has set foot and lived to tell, they are not disturbed by the powers
of good, and have all the time of the world to discuss their problems. Which
results in an ongoing, bloody war. I witnessed massive, bloody fights
between them, that were NOT the result of bardic provocation. It was very
funny to see.
Anyone care to place a bet on the outcoming? Two ophid warriors and an ophid
shaman were fighting two terathan warriors and three terathan drones. One
hint: just as I thought the battle had been decided, the apparently losing
party managed to miraculously change the tide and obtained a clear victory.
For a 10% fee, I will mediate between betting parties. I promise not to
cheat, hehe.

From what I read, you double click like heck on the brazier that's
down there. The brazier with the walkway leading to it, in the middle
of the swampy pool.
I gave it a try about a month ago, couldn't get near the damn thing.

This is correct. I've done this to access the Star Chamber before. You
have to double-click A LOT though. The first time definitely doesn't
work.

I went there the other day, and a person was there who welcomed me to
the 'secret club' and asking me to keep quiet because he didnt want it
getting out.
I didnt really have the heart. Not to mention its pretty much a
non-issue these days with the terrathons loot being tweaked down to
somewhat sane levels.

Maybe calls more monsters :)
I remember a lever in Ultima Underworld that did that

Oh, yes. One time a lizzard man was following me, but it couldn´t go past a
rabbit without hitting it.
Has anyone ever seen a water and a fire elem. together?
P.S.: Why is star champer called star chamber? What´s inside this room?
A weird looking altar of sorts. The black void outside of the walls is
full of stars, hence the name!
