The worst criticism we gamers face tends to be along the lines of "get a
life". And yet strangely enough, this comment tends to be made by people
who play golf.
As a pastime, I have to say gaming has a lot going for it. At its best you
can be intellectually challenged, enriched with knowledge about the world,
and perhaps enjoy interacting with other people, albeit over the Internet.
At its worst, well, at least you aren't hurting anybody. Except perhaps
over the Internet.
In fact, I can think of 10 reasons why computer games are better than real
life:
Reason 1: In games I can always reload and try again. In real life I can
only apologize.
Reason 2: Playing a game can look just like working. Depending on whether
my boss can see my screen.
Reason 3: If somebody disses me in a game, I can wreak havoc on their butt.
In real life, I'd probably run away.
Reason 4: If I don't like a game, I can play another one. In real life my
wife objects to this philosophy.
Reason 5: Games have manuals.
Reason 6: Computer games justify my need for a faster PC. In real life,
nobody types fast enough to require 1.7ghz.
Reason 7: In a computer game, I can beat Tiger Woods. In real life I need
to carry spare balls.
Reason 8: If a game is too hard, I can turn down the difficulty setting.
Reason 9: If I am overly stressed or running out of time in a game, I can
hit the pause button.
Reason 10: At the end of a good game, I know there will probably be a sequel.
Is all this true? No, of course not! You should get out into the sunshine.
Talk to your spouse. Play with the kids. Walk along an exotic foreign beach
at sunset. Anything really, just leave me here in peace. With my PC.

Consider this (its my own)
Deja Vu is proof that God is into game-saves.

I was asked "Do you consider gaming to be a life?"
And I answered "Dont you think of life as a game?"
I can beat Kitty Woods in real life.... just give me the 7 iron. *<WACK>*

And inconceivably long revert times.
Just imagine the size of the tape!

This is true! A few years back I walked in front of a couple of 2600#
pipes that were rolling down a hill, to try to hold them back, to keep
them from crushing a construction worker who happened to be working in
my area. Not being one of those "little old ladies" that can lift autos
off of people, I failed to hold them back. As I was going down under
the pipes I had the thought "hold it, let's do this over" - I wanted to
reload and try it again! *grins* It was very strange... Guess I play
too many comp games.

How many times have you made a mistake doing something and yelled "UNDO!"
Well this was a mighty silly thing to try and do. Didn't you ever take a
physics class? you know m*a=f
