The abridged version is a little over 1,000 pages, full of one sexual act
after the other. The author, whoever it was, goes into almost revolting
detail as to scents and shapes, and seems to have no limitations in his
desire for flesh. I haven't gone very far though, and I'm wondering how
he's going to manage to keep it interesting--It seems to me there's only so
many things that a penis can do.
On a random note, I also saw a German movie titled, "Run, Lola, Run." I'm
still not completely sure what happened or why, but it was a foreign film so
that's OK and expected :-)

I like how you tricked us into reading this post. ;-) Yeah, like you
didn't intend... sheesh. Okay..., so it's your life. You want to live the
way you are, and I guess I have no business asking it and expect you would
explain it to us in gory details, but I can at least ask, right? Okay,
whatever. I give up. Nah, don't pretend you are confused.*

Okay..., did you get the years wrong? You said the work is published around
early 1900's, so how would the author predict the future? I assume you mean
1865 and 1872, right? Sex was invented around 1865. (*pondering*) Yeah,
that sounds more like it. (*eye rolling*)

George Sand. Sounds like it's her work, given she was a person around that
period. Yeah, Georgie is an orgy. Amazing women she was. Rumor says she
had slept with every other gentlemen in Paris.

Only if you realize what a catepillar can do....

Why is Lola running across the street? (*drum rolls*)

I picked it up at a local bookstore for $6. It somehow managed to become a
"Signet Classic" :-P

It? My Wordsworth one is 5 books, 400 - 500 pages each. incorporating
all original 11 volumes - I got 'em at Books a Million IIRC. Paid $2
something each.
Heavy going - like most Victorian pornography, but better than de Sade.
Video tapes changed all that, and now we have the net - or Seaworld, of
course, depending upon predisposition. <g>
My e-mail is full of invitations to fun in the farmyard, and incest.
What I want to know is, pictorially speaking, how do we *know* we
getting incest?

Mine is a condensed version; no way I'd ever read 11 volumes. Even the one
I have is becoming very dull. Has sex a bunch with 7 or 8 main characters,
rapes a few people, etc. I guess after DeSade I pretty much read it all and
very little would suprise me now, lol. Like all writers of the time, it's
horribly wordy, too.
> My e-mail is full of invitations to fun in the farmyard
I get a kick from the messages saying "Hot girls at the farm with animals"
and at the bottom in tiny letters it says, "this site contains no
bestiality."
, and incest.

Hopefully I won't ever have to worry about it.

the movie was fairly good, with some nice music and disturbing animation.
german, I believe. not exactly foreign, exactly german. if you'd like a
short summary of the plot, well, there's this girl, and she's got a
boyfriend, and he has to undergo some sort of a test for some mafia guy or
something, and she runs to get the money he needs, 'cos he screws up and
loses all cash he was meant to give to this mafia guy or something, and
there are some alternative versions of what's happening to them and some of
the people she meets while running and well, try to concentrate next time
you watch another 'foreign', that is european movie. I know you, americans,
like your movies plain and simple. well, we don't. we like some, you know,
spirit, some soul in our movies, some, you know, well, you know, etc. go
ahead, flame me. :-> I can stand it, I really can.

This is what I already know. I was hoping to fill in all the "..or
something" spots.

I'm sorry, it was hard to concentrate when her hair was blinding me every
time I looked at it.
For the record, I enjoyed the movie (except the parts where she is running
and that tachno-boop music is playing), I just wish I had some better idea
why it was happening.

You like a lot more darkness and morbidity. More realism or even pessimism
beyond realism. You favor tragic endings, perhaps almost darkly humorously
tragic.
IOW European movies have crappy endings. American movies have happy
endings.
We know it's stupid, but we (my wife and I) LIKE American movies, dammit.
You always know Biff Spiffy will get the girl and live happily ever after,
even if the rotation of the planet has to suddenly reverse itself or an
alient from planet Blartok happens to appear out of nowhere in the last ten
seconds just to make sure that is the case. We know it's lame and cheesy
and stupid, but we like it that way. Most Americans do. Give us happy
endings or you don't get any money at the box office.
