I never introduced myself, I just kinda....started posting :-)
But, if you insist....Here's my default speech for introductions (You know,
name, sex, gender....:-)
My name is Ophidian Dragon, aka Zac BOnd. I was born on Nov 23, 1981 in
Birmingham, AL, where I have lived all of my life. Currently, I am a
sophomore in a private Catholic high school, despite the fact that I am not
religious. Generally, I keep to myself. Obsessions include Star Trek,
Ultima, sex, and the Simpsons. I was introduced to Ultima with U3 and U4
for the Nintendo, and later with U6 for the PC. Since then, I have been an
Ultima Online pre-alpha, phase one and two beta tester, a Counselor, and
yelled at many gaming mags about their reviews of Ulitma. I once laimed
Scorpia of CGW could not tell a good RPG if it snuck up her ass and bit
her. That's about all I can come up with right now, and I have other
'things' I'd like to be doing.....:-)
-Ophidian Dragon
Okay, I know I'm not a graybeard, but I'll introduce myself for the
hell of it. My name is Sponge Dragon, aka Bryan Choi, and I started
posting about a year ago (I use my mom's account). My dragon name comes
from an internet cult devoted to the works of Douglas Adams, writer of
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." The first Ultima I played was
U7, and that just got me &$#%ing hooked on the Ultima series. I then
played U7SI, U8, U6, U5, and U4. I go to an extremely snotty and
stuck-up school full of preppie jerks ten times richer than me, in NY.
My RL interests are Douglas Adams books, Anti-Barney activities, Ultima
(duh), Final Fantasy, CastleVania (Alucard rocks!), writing columns for
the school newspaper, and anything communist or socialist
history-related. Hmm, that's about all I can think of now, oh, I also
can not get a date to save my life.

ahem...well I am Unicorn Dragon, I married to Soup and oneof my sons is also
a dragon - Thunder.
When I joined Ethereal handled the names - there were only about 30 or so
dragons at the time - I remember clearly a thread where
we discussed what we would do if the number reached 100+.
I asked to be Grey Dragon because I am ancient. But that name
was being held for Grey from P* days. Eth asked me "How
ancient?" and I said
"Well it's been a hell of a long time since the Unicorn in U7
would talk to me." and so I became Unicorn, but I'm happy
to talk to anybody - virgin or not.
Soup chose his name because he is a chef and also he was
crazy about the Clangers - British puppet show from years
ago. Thunder.... I can't remember why Elliot chose that
but it suits him well enough.
I am British and lived in 9 countries as a child, then the UK for
several years, then the US for seven years and now Canada
for the past two years. I am an internet producer for a major
isp here in Canada. Our eldest son lives in London (UK) and
is a Lotus Notes admin, middle son is in college in Blair, Nebraska
and youngest is here with us.
That's about it. I live in Winnipeg, work in Ontario - I am flying
to Toronto tomorrow for a two day trip but usually just work
online.
I head up the greeting team and generally manage the team and
the roster. I also handle greets as well.

Hmmm. What to say. Well, I turned 25 last Tuesday. I'm 5'8" with
dark hair that needs badly to be cut. My driver's license lists my
weight as 185#, but I can only wish that were true. Most people think
I'm rather odd, and there are only a couple of people whom I would
call friends. In the past, I have worked for Six Flags (4 years),
Burger King (3 weeks), Toys 'R' Us (3 years), and Randstad (off and on
for a few years). Currently, I work keying credit card payments for
ten hours a night. (I won't say for whom I currently work because if
you don't know then you can't misattribute my statements to them.)
I've only been on this newsgroup for about a month, though I've been
online for nearly a year. I read a lot, but not as much since I
bought a computer. This stinking computer sucks up all my time!
Well, at least now I have something tangible on which to blame my
complete lack of anything resembling a social life. This post is not
formatted in nice paragraphs because it is mostly just
stream-of-consciousness stuff. Too bad. I'm a manic-depressive
(Thanks, Dad!), and I find that I don't take much pleasure in much of
anything. I listen to talk radio when I'm at work, and I hope James
Randi gets a syndicated show sometime soon. What else do you want to
know? I'll expose myself before this entire newsgroup if someone asks
me to. I have no shame. Neither do I have any pride. My friends
(both of them) call me "Eeyore" because I'm such a sadsack.

Oh, Ghod. Were I revered by anybody, I'd probably be getting laid.
Okay, a long damn time ago, like on the 6th of January, 1996 (over two
years ago! wow!), a little idiot -me- went onto AGUD and declared
himself, in a long and rambling post, to be Abstract Dragon. You can
look it up on Deja News if you truly care. I became embroiled in
flame wars almost instantly, and told Whisper to go suck maggots
before nearly anybody else did. Fun! As a bonus, Kender and I still
saw eye to eye on many things. Surprising, eh, Dis?
Well, a little while later, I changed ISPs, and I celebrated that
change by changing my Dragon name to, lamely, The Dragon Formerly
Known as Abstract. Abstract is now taken by some guy who lives in
Australia, and the Grand Roster gives my join date as over a year
after I really joined. No great loss. Hell, my name is still screwed
up on the roster.
I never use it anymore...don't ask me why.
So. The present. I work tech support for a well-known PC
manufacturer (and I don't want to say whom, as I could drag their name
in the mud with my reputation...I hope...). My attempt to divorce
myself from human emotions last year failed utterly, and it left me
very angry. Veeeeeeeerrrrry aaaaaaangrrrrrrrryyyyy.
Oh, yes, where was I? I'm male, 21, and sort of hairy. I look
like...I dunno...a human. I now live in Las Vegas, and I really need
to be playing raquetball right about now. I'm signifigantly more
unintelligent than I was two years ago, but now my dialouge is
snappier. Fair tradeoff. I plan on going back to college next
semester for a CS degree, after which I'll write a 3D engine that John
Carmack would rape himself to be able to do the rasterizer for.
If you care about my history and my future enough to wonder about what
else there is, feel free to ask in e-mail. I'll only be too happy to
divulge more laffs.

OK, well....
My Ultima fandom reaches back when Ultima IV was first published on the C64. I
was in close telephone contact with a couple of friends who also played the
game at the time, and my brother (Gargish Dragon) and me had some serious
timing problems over 'Ultima playing time' then :)
When we found an old Atari ST Ultima ][ in a bargain (we owning an Amiga by
then) my brother and me toyed around with the idea of porting Ultima ][ to the
Amiga. We disassembled the whole C64 code and wrote a 68000 port to the Amiga,
complete with added mouse interface, new graphics and sampled sound. The game
even runs under the UAE but we never got back any word from Origin when we
tried to show it to them (I guess nobody doesn't even own an amiga any more at
OSI's...) So - it never saw the light of day.
When I first read the newsgroup (around early 1995, and it was still agud) the
dominating thread was - reorg yes or no? If I recall correctly Ethereal was
against the reorg and Fallible was pro (I could be wrong, this part of the
memory is kind of hazy). Having 1998 and *still* reading about reorg issues
makes me kind of smile :)
I read the ng for a while and finally decided to join the party around June
1995. As for picking a dragon name, it had clearly have to do something with
music, I was leafing through English-German dictionary and encountered
'Minstrel', which also coinceded with my musical taste (-> Jethro Tull:
Minstrel in the Gallery).
My first 'acction' was to convert the Ultima V music from the C128 version to
MIDI, later I added some more voices from the apple II version and also
converted some U3 midis. I even made some U3 music sheets using MusicTeX
format.
Around June of 1995 I met my first fellow dragons on IRC, when BlueStar Dragon
(my greeter, BlueStar, where are you?) settled an event on #udic/undernet.
From then on I was a heavy #udic user, and later on also helped in registering
the channel and got an admin job when it was decided the channel needed some
more administration (which was discussed to some lengths).
Around August/September I stumbled upon a disk image of Akalabeth on the
asimov archive and rewrote the game to C-source. Once again, it was pretty
much ignored by Origin, I only learned about that other port of the game
(which I assume is the one which will be included on the upcoming Ultima
Collection). Oh well... So much for porting games not asked for. I vow to do
it never again :) BTW, I never released that game, either, but it ran on a
number of platforms (DOS, Amiga, Linux (port courtesy to Farlon dragon)).
Around January 1996 I took over the UDIC homepages list (which I neglected far
too much recently, I hope to catch up with the work, soon), later that year I
became a greybeard (tm) and got awarded a greybeard title by the great ~geo
himself!
I took part in Whisper's legendary kris-kringle exchanges in 1995 and 1996,
helped Erraticus promoting the Rings of Dragons, and try to be a good natured
Dragon all along. RealLifing I am in the third year of doing my PhD thesis
work in Biophysics at the department of Membrane- and Neurophysics, at the
Max-Planck-Institut for Biochemistry in Martinsried near Munich.

Well, I never did this when I joined; I just left an obligatory post saying
"hi". But it seems to be the trend nowadays, so why not.
I am Lumina Dragon, known to humans as Kenneth Whitten, a 20 year old
student at Indiana University Bloomington. My home town is Crown Point, IN.
I have been a Dragon for 15 or 16 months, but I am *NOT* a Graybeard(tm). I
am an avid fan of roleplaying games, especially those by SquareSoft (Final
Fantasy series, ChronoTrigger) and the Ultima Series. I also have a bunch of
other video RPGs and a few other CRPGs. I am also into the pen-and-paper
AD&D game, specifically the Forgotten Realms setting. I am a Trekker to some
extent, DS9 is my favorite Trek series. I have seen many of its episodes and
read all its novels so far. Other books I read are Forgotten Realms novels,
other Star Trek novels (mainly the unnumbered ones), and the Guardians of
the Flame series by Joel Rosenberg. That's basically me and my hobbies.
Pretty dull, maybe, but it works for me.

A lot of people say I'm like Eeyore too.
(Not revered, but other newish dragons have led the way.....)
OK I'm game. I'm an anaesthetist (that's anaesthesiologist to those in the
US of A) and I work in private practice in Perth, West Australia. As I pass
gas for a living, I figured Gaseous was a reasonable name - besides,
Ethereal was already taken.
I'm married, have 2 sons 20 and 17, attending University of W.A. (Law &
commerce respectively). The younger son is as much of an Ultima freak as I
am - if I get into trouble I usually ask him first.
I first discovered Ultima when we got a little Apple IIGS years ago; looking
around I found a boxed "Ultima Trilogy" - 1 to 3. We fell in love with the
concept, and it shows that advancing age doesn't stop enjoyment of a good
RPG. Later the kids got themselves an Amiga, and I found Ultima V for
that - that was great fun. After changing to an IBM we rejoined the series
at VII, and have been with it ever since.
I also love the Star Trek series and movies (Kill the Borg!). Frederick
Forsythe is one of my favourite authors and I also enjoy flying, although
that's a bit expensive to do a lot of.
I only recently launched onto the internet, so I'm a bit of a newbie to that
and also RCGUD, but it's a lot of fun. Your ramblings are hugely
entertaining, so keep it up guys (and gals).

Oh, go for it. I've done my bit with the feminists.
Born May 3, 1969 in St. Paul, MN. Grew up there, moved to Wisconsin to go to college, stayed for grad school, and now I work here. I was a history major, but now I'm a business consultant. I love games of pretty much any kind, good movies, most books, and all cheesecakes. I play guitar (acoustic) and golf (poorly). My first Ultima experience was with Ultima II on my friend's Apple ][ + back in the early 80's - it hooked me and I've played almost every one since. Freshman year of college, when I had no computer, my friend and I started playing Ultima V on a dorm neighbor's Apple IIe. We would go to his room at around 8:00 pm and start playing. The computer owner and his roomate would go to sleep - we would keep playing. They would wake up and go to class - we would keep playing. I had a few squabbles with my then-girlfriend over this lifestyle...

As for my deal (not that anyone cares) but, here goes:
Born Stephen Andre Bailey in March 1969, Harlem, New York City, of parents who
immigrated to the US from the West Indian nation of Trinidad and Tobago. I am
5'7", stocky build (im not telling my weight) and many people mistake me for
Hispanic, based on my appearance. Actually I am multi ethnic-- My family hails
from all over the globe-- grandparents from Ireland, Portugal, Venezuela, and
China (that's the West Indies for you). Went to the Collegiate School and
graduated in '87, Columbia University '92, Hunter College (MA in English Lit.)
still pending.
My two favorite hobbies are martial arts (9 years in the GojuRyu style of
karate), and of course, Ultima. I started with Ultima 3 on the Atari 800, a
great machine; I miss it terribly. I've been hooked ever since. Anyway,
there's a lot more, but I wont bore you guys.

I'm a relative newcomer to the Dragons (signed on about a year back, now).
I am Financial Dragon, a name relating to my work in personal financial
services for a major Canadian financial institution. I am 26, single and
avidly enjoy my computer, the internet and hiking (I know, what a bizarre
mix...go figure :)
My first experience with Ultima was when I was around 11 years old in Grade
6. Back then my school had just gotten its first computers: two Apple ][e
computers. Well, me and my friend Philip Wu were intrigued immediately, and
our teacher at the time who "administered" the computers took us under his
proverbial wing and taught us a thing or two about computers. As a reward,
he would often allow us to play games on our lunch hours. We often played a
game called Odyssey, a sort-of RPG in which you played a character who had
to find "The Orb of Power" or something like that. One day, he brought in a
game called Ultima (yep, the 1st one). He said it was sort of like Odyssey,
and we would probably like it. We played it a little bit, but ironically,
we did not like it as much as Odyssey.
As it turns out, a few years later when I had my own computer (an
Apple ][c), I ran into a couple of games amongst a bunch my brother borrowed
from a friend: Return to Atlantis (the sequel to Odyssey) and Exodus:
Ultima III. Of course, I recalled Odyssey immediately and delved right into
Atlantis. Well, in short, it *sucked* and that was that. I turned to
Exodus and had a vague recollection of Ultima from a few years prior. So a
loaded up Exodus and after a short time, was hooked (see reference to irony
above ;).
Isn't it funny such silly little things we remember? Anyways...thanks.
This was fun.

Perhaps my character judgement is amiss, but I'd venture to guess that
you're speaking from experience on that last part.
My name is James Dowd (I bet you would have never guessed that from the
"from" field of my messages ;) ) and I'm 16. My Dragon B-day is July 4th
(totally random) 1997, and my human b-day is August 3rd, 1981. Uh... I
like, go to school, and don't have a job. This year's highlight is AP
Physics, which involves me and four of my friends (two of which are Dragons,
neither of which posts) doing absolutely nothing in class, pissing off our
teacher with 90+ averages. (We do a hell of a lot of studying for tests, at
home) Other than that, I pride myself on math and programming... I wouldn't
call myself a very good programmer, but my teacher does. hopefully he's
right and I'm not. (on a side note, Mike Cuzzo a.k.a. Pothead Dragon is my
classmate and friend) As for math... well, I like math, and I'm good at it.
The only really impressive acheivement I have is being first in 11th grade
in Suffolk County a little while ago in a competition. Now, away from
school I do little but sit at home and do... nothing. I play lots and lots
of games... an abridged list would be Ultimas, Final Fantasies (NES/SNES
only, +Chrono Trigger) all the Command & Conquer games and expansions, Total
Annihilation, Diablo and Hellfire, NHL xx, where xx is the current year
(totalling 7 games since '93) Front Page Sports Baseball and Football xx,
The Warcraft series, Duke Nukem games, and a lot of other crap. And UO. As
for the Ultima series, my first computer gmae ever (not only first Ultima
game) was Ultima VII. Since then I've played all but the WoUs and beaten 1,
2, 4, and 7. SI and 8 would be completed, but both crashed near the end in
some unrecoverable way. I have a habit of only making one saved game for
anything. I am a perfectionist in many ways - not a neat freak, but when I
do something I am very annoyed if it isn't done right. I listen to
Metallica and have all 7 albums, and sometimes listen to Guns 'n' Roses,
too... hmm, I can't think of anything else... oh, wait. My name, Talraen,
has absolutely no bearing on anything. My old name, NecroDwod, was the
strange combination of non-serious RPing (don't ask) and my nickname. I
have several other variations on my nickname, but I won't go into that. The
name Talraen comes from one other session of RPing where my friend told me
to think of a name and I was stumped, so we went on the 'Net and used a name
generator. It came up with Taleran or something, and I changed it (love
those ae combos ;) ) to my tastes. before THOSE names I always used
Striker. Well, I don't think there is anything more to say, really, and I
have tortured anyone persistent enough to get this far already. So, that's
all.

I'm a lowly music student eking out an existence at McGill university,

>Come on, share!
Well, I've been around for more than two years now, meaning that I
even posted back in the agud days, so I guess this applies to me as
well.
Awright, then... I joined the Dragons shortly after I started
studying, about half a day after I discovered the Internet and got
myself an e-mail address. My Dragon name - Thirith - comes from the
fantasy parody/novel I wrote back then, but more about that later. As
far as I remember, my greeter was Uni. Cheers! <Thirith hugs Uni and
sends her a cheese fondue.>
I started playing Ultima with U5 on the C-64, shortly after I'd
finished Bard's Tale III; looking at my old notebook from those days
always gives me a nasty pang of nostalgia. Not only because of Ultima,
but mainly because there's a couple of pages in that notebook where I
tried out a few drawings for a love letter I wrote back then. Must
have been '87 or '88, so I was around 13. (Note to myself:
AAAAAARGGHHHHHH!!!! Part 1.)
Later, when U6 came out, I'd reached the Swiss equivalent of high
school. I didn't have a PC of my own back then, but there were several
machines at school, so I kept reinstalling both U6 and Wing Commander
on those machines, played them for an hour or so, came back a week
later to find the games erased, installed them again etc. At nauseam.
Later that year I bought a computer together with my parents; I was
grateful, as was school. :)
I've played every PC Ultima that has come out since then, and I've
finished each and every one - except Savage Empire, which never did
much for me. (I've never been a fan of those Lost World fantasies, and
I'm not really into busty princesses in half-torn tigerskin
bikinis...) I tried to clean up Loch Lake in U7, and I got a lump in
my throat when Dupre sacrificed himself. I finished U8 with *and*
without patch, and I even enjoyed it to a certain degree. (There
really should be an UDIC award for beating U8 without patch...)
In Real Life(tm) - or what passes for it - I study English Literature
and Linguistics as a major, and Medieval and Modern History as minors.
(I've even written a linguistics paper using loads of RGCU-D data.) I
sometimes write sci-fi or fantasy, and I've got a real rejection slip
from Paramount to prove it! (If anyone's interested in my first,
somewhat clumsy try at a Star Trek:TNG novel, I can send it via
e-mail.) As mentioned above, I've also written a fantasy novel, and
one of the protagonists is a lisping dragon called Thirith. Not my
best work, I must say, but there's a couple of nice footnotes in that
one. ;) Apart from that, I play the piano and percussion, and I did
some of the music for the Age of the Dragons project (Formerly Known
As Dragons' Ultima). I'm planning to enter Academia later on, so I'll
never have to find out what that dreaded thing called Reality is.
Apart from that, about 75% of English students around here are women,
and many of them are... nice. :) If only some of them were willing to
be integrated in my plans for the future... In RL I tend to be
sarcastic to the point of cynicism, but I'm really a big sop at heart.
(Awwwwww...!) I hated Four Weddings and a Funeral, liked Titanic,
adored Drowning By Numbers; I read everything from LotR through Julian
Barnes and John Irving novels to Shakespeare plays and Thomas Hardy; I
listen mainly to orchestral film scores, Apocalyptica, David Lynch
scores, Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd; I don't like beer (!) but I
regularly go overboard on whiskey and/or wine.
As for my contributions to UDIC: I seem to be the only regular Dragon
living in Switzerland - I'm not Swiss, though; I'm British, thanks to
my mother. (Before that I was German, but let's just forget about that
one...) Also, I have coined the phrase 'prick on legs', which seems to
have stuck in several dragons' minds. That's basically it.
P.S.: Sorry if this is too long - but I just can't cut myself short in
text. Ask my professors. :)

I don't work. :p It's kinda the reverse of "Don't try this at home"
I'm a 19 year old student of Computer Science at the University of
Nottingham in the UK. My secluded British upbringing means I miss many of
the references on this newsgroup, and so I frequently ask what may appear
to be painfully obvious questions on aspects of American/global culture.
My first exposure to Ultima was Underworld 1, which was fantastic. As soon
as I could I bought Origin's 1-6 CD (had no problem getting it - weird
that). Soon followed the other games, and after a couple of years of
frantic searching I finally tracked down the U7 CD a few weeks back on a
market, which pleased me no end. Despite this collection I've not actually
ever finished an Ultima, but I've come close with UW1, U7 and my currently
in-progress game of U4. I'm about the most true-playing gamer you'll ever
come across, and never use cheats or walkthroughs.
Other favourite games are Elite, UFO, Civ and Sam and Max, and I have an
unhealthy preoccupation with 80s home computer games that are probably
best forgotten (Chuckie Egg, Exile, Sentinel). I enjoy programming, web
authoring and computer graphics. Outside of computing I like movies,
listening to movie soundtracks and walking. I love the Lake District
region of England. I role-play, but don't get much chance to do it (aside
from my dragon character in UDIC, that is).
I've been in the UDIC for about three months now, and have talked a friend
into joining as well (sadly, he doesn't post). As well as rgcud, I'm
sometimes on #udic, and can also be found on the Weyrmount where I'm
currently building a home (feel free to drop in and chat).
And... erm... that's it.
BTW, thanks for this thread, Kaleb! It's very interesting and informative.

I don't drink much, either. I got drunk a couple of times when I was
21, but I didn't like the way I felt the next morning. Drained and
dehydrated--bleh. I'm not averse to drinking socially, mind you, but
the opportunity rarely arises.

Can't say anything much on beer and rum... I usually stick to (good)
malt whiskey - along the lines of Lagavulin or Craggamore<sp?> -, red
wine, tequila, cognac, white wine and the likes. *And* I've never had

um...
Im definitely not a greybeard, since i only started posted regularly
quite recently, but according to the udic.org I'll be 2 in March...
Ah what the heck I'll just introduce myself:
Destrius Dragon.
Self-proclaimed Draco Insano Magi (Mad-Mage-Dragon).
(Official certificate from classmates proving this to be true)
If you're curious, Destrius is the name of a mad mage in a fantasy
novel I'm writing, called "The Plain of Death" (I know, it is an
_extremely_ corny name but then I came up with this story 4 years ago
and only started to write it a year ago...).
In RL I'm a fanatical 15-year old computer-user. Unlike some of my
peers, I hate Diablo and all it stands for and am setting up a Diablo
Haters Club. BTW, I played Diablo for a month before I started to
loathe it so I'm qualified...
My first Ultima was U7:BG which came with my new computer in an EA
Compilation CD from Creative Tech. Before that, the only RPG I had
played was EOB3, and so Ultima-type CRPing was quite new to me. I got
hooked on BG once I saw Christopher's body (ok, im morbid) and went on
to complete BG in 7 months IIRC...
Next came UW and Savage Empire, both also on the CD, and then I
tried U8, w/o patch. Hehehe....right after I talked to Devon I got
lost jumped back into the sea...In the end I gave up on U8 and tried
to complete UW, until I found the Net and at which I d/led the U8
patch straightaway and completed the freaking game.
Oh yeah, if you're wondering why I only started posting about a year
after I joined, its because my net account got cut 1 month after I was
born :(, due to some problems with the ISP.
Finally in late 97 i got a new account, but exams were around the
corner so I didn't have a chance to use it till 98...
Phew. That was hard. Sorry for talking so much...
...hehehe...

You've obviously never had a port hangover, then. Ouch.
>It's worth it though.
I decided that, for me at least, it isn't usually. I suffer worse
hang-overs than anyone else I know -- I've even been hung-over without
really being drunk -- so I only get trolleyed very rarely these days.
My head thanks me for it. :)
Hi Destrius -- I won't splut you, since you've been around longer than
I have. :)
However, what I wanted to ask was:

_Where can we get this thing_??
You can't. It was never distributed separately. But it does prove that EA
had the rights to distribute Savage Empire, doesn't it? Makes you wonder why
they won't do it now...
Bob Gregg aka Underworld Dragon
The Notable Ultima: www.scott.net/~rgregg/ultima/
it came with the Creative Sound Blaster Discovery CD16 upgrade kit I
bought 3 years ago. The computer that came with it is now my sister's
as I upgraded...
AFAIK, the CD cannot be bought as it came with the kit and is not for
sale. Anyway Creative doesn't sell it anymore...
The CD was quite a good bargain actually, since besides Ultima it came
with WCA, Populous II and Space Hulk (which appeared on the shelves at
least half a year after I got the CD :) and some others.
Maybe you could find someone who bought the kit and buy it from them?
You might ask someone who has it (like me) nicely!
(Not that I would sell it... ;)
Or you might try to find a SB16 Discovery Kit (with a 2-X-Spin CD-ROM!

Try some god forsaken computer store in some god forsaken town with
cobwebs all over, and no products younger than 3 years, and a C128
unsold in a corner. (There is one in my hometown, I don't think they
have the SB16 Discovery Kit though, too new for them. ;)
Good Luck!
Just for grins, I wrote Creative about this product. Much to my surprise they
actually replied, but said they would not sell the game CDs from this product
separately from the Kit itself, due to licensing agreements. They also failed
to say whether they still had any in stock, or knew where any were, so the
whole exercise was worth zero. But I still thought you might like to know.

Licensing agreements, eh? That sounds remarkably similar to the

This is an opportunity too good to miss. Do you have any incriminating
photos of any of your school's computing staff? I think a spot of
blackmail may be in order.
Seriously though, if you're on good terms with any of the staff I'd
explain the situation to them honestly, and *grovel*. It's not as if they
need 100 copies of Savage Empire, is it? Must be worth a try.

There you go, folks: 100 copies of Savage Empire. And I'll bet the school
would love a little donation - probably even be tax deductible! Anyone for a
little Ultima charity auction?

i'll try...
how 'bout this?
"Oh, please eternal Master of the Multiverse, can I have a cheap and
absolutely useless copy of the Savage Empire? Im part of a group on
insane Dragons who like to collect this sort of stuff, and if Your
Greatness can give us a few copies of that insignificant CD, we will
all bow down, postrate to you and add your beautiful name to our
Dragon Anthem. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase?"
hmmm...now all we need is an anthem. Is the one Singing Dragon (IIRC)
wrote good enough?

I wonder if the school is prepared for 10,000 large, extremely eager
dragons appearing on its doorstep? :)

And one a lot of us haven't played, at that.

*cough* _Ninja_ equipment?! We samurai hate ninjas almost as much as
the Tick does!

Sounds good to me! Right, who's got the advanced .wav-editing suite?
:)

No, indeed.
>Must be worth a try.
If they won't give them away, ask them if they'll sell them on. Most
schools never turn down the opportunity to make a quick buck (pound,
rupee, sheckel, cowrie shell, whatever) and they'll undoubtedly be
able to sell all of them with _all_ to various members of UDIC!

Can I be second? I'll even settle for third! :)

sorry there. I mean Worms2 equipment. Tell me there's a difference.
on the topic of Worms 2, what would you say if we had a game like that
called Dragons where everyone is armed with pies and go around
SPLUTing one another? hmmm...which Dragon wants to audition for Old
Woman? :)
Well, of course I mean we can't let those darn peasants get out of
their place now can we, next thing you'll know they'll be running the
place.

Don't we have that already? >:D

Heh.

Nice idea! Not that I've played W2 but at least W1, and if they are
alike at all, I'll probably buy W2 soon... Anyway, who'll do the
programming, and what weapons besides pies?

You wouldn't want to hear the anthem that I wrote...

I knew someone would say that... And the awful truth is.. . I haven't
written it yet. But it's lurking in my creative mind somewhere. Might
stay there forever, but it is lurking, I assure you!

I don't worry too much about peasants. For some reason, a single
comment from me that my sword's been looking a little blunt lately,
and they're all scurrying about their business. *VBEG*
