Don't you just have to change the nameservers? Whois shows everything as
godaddy except for them, they're still from idirections.com...

Namezero only has online tools to change name servers to /them/.
Godaddy just told me they had no control over this and that I'd have to
contact Namezero to get anything done. Whee!

That Godaddy ad was fun, in a way.
That doesn't really make sense. The domain is registered with godaddy, so all you
should need to do is go into their domain control panel and change the DNS servers
there yourself. Of course, you first need replacement servers, but usually your
hosting service will provide those. If they don't, I personally like the ones provided
by zoneedit.com.
The only thing that might prevent this change is the registrar lock on your domain, but
that can be disengaged temporarily in the godaddy control panel too. Don't forget to
put it back afterwards to protect the domain from being changed without your

That's odd... I just checked and there's a "Name Server Update" section
that allows freeform name server entry. From what I can see, you enter the
new nameservers one at a time on the right and when you hit "continue" the
old ones on the left are removed (clicking on the arrow button copies the
old ones from the left to the right so they're not deleted).
Of course I haven't done this yet, but I imagine that's how it works.
