Fun game, btw. Level 10 monk on about Halfway through chapter two I'd
say. :)

I'm in about the same spot...playing my usual fighter...high
strength, little brain. ;) I really like the look of the game and
like the way it plays. Kinda Baldur's Gate 3D. The way the tall
grass sways in the breeze is cool and the shiny armor is rather
neat. Found it a little difficult to get into the game at first,
having spent so many hours playing in a first person point of view in
Morrowind, but I'm good and hooked now!
Have you played with the editor at all? Looks to be relatively
easy to use and fairly powerful. I might just have to try my
hand at creating something with it after I clear the game.

The only Ultima remake using NWN that I know of is the U9 remake called Eriadain.
Site: http://membres.lycos.fr/eriadain/
There is (or was) a U7:BG/SI remake using the Dungeon Siege engine but I don't
know what the status on that is.
Also you could try Ultima: The Recontruction which contains information about
various different Ultima projects.

My understanding (from fansforultima.com) was that the DS remakes were
of U5 and 6. I hadn't heard about a U7 game, other than Exult. And
yeah, eriadain is NWN.

A good game and it has its own editor too?
Mewant!
SOMEONE GIVE ME A BETTER COMPUTER ALREADY!
-Lumina Dragon
I think it's really neat how so many games are coming with editors
now. Combine that with high speed connections to the 'net and
lots of creative minds, the lifespan of a game can be greatly
expanded. Dungeon Siege came with an editor, NWN came with an
editor, Morrowind came with an editor. I haven't seen much done
with the Dungeon Siege engine yet, though, and I guess NWN is
still rather new for much to have popped up, but mods for
Morrowind are plentiful. I think it's a great trend.
> Mewant!
Yes, you do!
> SOMEONE GIVE ME A BETTER COMPUTER ALREADY!
I'm afraid you'll have to do that part yourself :P
I do keep meaning to try NWN on my Athlon to see how it runs.
It's smooth as silk with everything cranked on this machine,
but then, it had better! :)
Anyway, just hit chapter 3 now. Should I call it a night, or
play a bit more...decisions, decisions...do I let myself be
a zombie tomorrow and have lots of fun now? What is
a game addict to do?!
-Amurath Dragon
That's good. I even have a nude patch for Morrowind.

Actually the games (NWN and Morrowind) made me want to buy the new GeForce
Ti4200.... So many things I want to buy, but so little money....

I personally think NWN is too hard.... But I've alwayz been a wimp in this
kind of the game. I prefer to play as a druid, and I even bought my
character a somewhat risque bard's cloth (it was a decision between that or
the jester cloth). After several respawns, I think it's a good idea that I
should abandon single player mode, and join a multiplayer where a druid can
survive.

Anywayz, where is that Eriadan remake? I want to join you guyz.

Apparently there are several nude patches for Morrowind. Not
really that surprising ;) Certainly brings more meaning to the
funny reactions you get if you walk around town without anything
on! *LOL*

But the power, the power! Who needs money when you have power! ;)

Now this is why I always play a fighter. So many of these games
seem to favour a fighter. I'm finding the game to be a little on
the easy side with difficulty set at normal.

Perhaps what you need to do is hire the right henchman? Seems to
me there's one big bruiser in the lot that should be able to crush
most of your enemies for you :)
-Amurath Dragon
Several ones? Where did you get them? I have a problem with the strip
combat mod. It only works in the first few minutes.

Yeah, I could play as a paladin, but I prefer druid.... Which is kind of
suck. If the game just want you to play the fighter type, why did they put
the rest of the classes in the first place?

That one is a half-orc.... Don't like half-orc. I don't know why, but I am
a druid, but I just want to use the spider, not bear as my familiar. And
the game doesn't have a cat!

Strip combat mod?! I haven't seen this one *LOL* I've seen
one topless mod, one bottomless mod, and the "natural skins"

Good point. And not only does the game seem to favour a brute,
but it favours melee combat in particular!

One thing I noticed about the half-orc...his voice is all wrong!
He sounds too cultured for my stereotype ;)

No cat? I'm surprised at that. Strange thing to overlook.
Admittedly, there are a number of oddities in NWN. Not to say
I didn't enjoy it...I was glued to my computer from the day it
was released...but I'd like to see if some of the imbalances can
be fixed in future mods.
-Amurath Dragon
Where did you find those? The nakkid mod I found was from a site where they
give you a warning that you must be 18 or older before you enter that
section.... I lost the link.... I really like that one. My problem with
those skins are that male genitals are flat.... I don't think any of us
(males at least) has a flat pee pee stick.
Strip combat mod is fun, because you can finally humiliate those guards.
LOL (save the game first before). The guard sex mod is just sick (it gives
you some percent of chance of getting STD, to me it's almost like 100%). My
major complaint about that mod is that it's less graphic than I thought. It
just says I got fucked, and I save myself some prison fines. It just makes
me feel so used.

LOL, I know that one. Do you realize when you near my computer, you could
feel flows of hot air pumped out?
This is what I do with my computer ventilation:
1) A ventilation fan installed in my room window. It has two fans, lower
one sucks air in, the other pump the hot air out.
2) I chose a good case which has big ventilation holes in the front.
Installed a fan that sucks the cool air in there.
3) The power supply fans.... yes, I bought a power supply that has two
fans.
4) The P4's CPU fan is the largest creature I've ever seen.... The CPU/Fan
size ratio just makes you wonder if size does matter.
e) I have a cyclone fan (or something like that) that occupies one rear
bay.... It's not as good as I want, but it helps.
6) My case comes with a HDD fan....
So how many fans I have so far just inside the case? Fortunately my fans
are all ball-bearing (and I chose the lowest noise model I could find), so
they are not as noisy as you would think. Still not as quiet as an iMac,
but that machine has no fan and you could kick it, and it would come back
up.

Are you a Brit (or Brit minors)? I didn't know that. Anywayz, that's not
important. (*changes subject*) Yeah, that game favors raw power. Some
people mentioned about the correlation between the best selling games genre
in the marketing and short-attention span of Americans.

LOL! I just don't like half-orc because it looks like he didn't take care
of his skin better. It's very rough looking. Nah, the real reason is he
looks too big, and it doesn't fit into our team culture.... (*stifles a
laughter*) BTW, my character is a half-elf.

Cats are superior animals. How can they overlook that! Maybe we should
write hate letters to developers.

Me too..., after I got over with my fear with dungeons when my level were
really low, now it's really okay. I really hope the game would stick to the
real 3rd edition rules though. I really hope it would replace my RL pnp
session, and makes paperless dream come true, but it has never taken place,
has it?

Anyway, I don't remember for sure where I found them, but just
doing a quick search on the official Morrowind forum, I came up

iMac's don't have fans?! Well, just goes to show you that you learn
something new every day.

It's because I wrote "favour" instead of "favor", right? ;)
Actually, I'm Canadian.
> Yeah, that game favors raw power. Some people mentioned about the

I seem to recall reading some stuff about that. Now, I'd be lying
if I said I didn't enjoy mindless shoot 'em up games, too, but
I definitely prefer a good crpg anyday! Must be the engineer in
me...I actually *like* to engage my brain sometimes!
> BTW, my character is a half-elf.
I actually played through as an elf, which is very odd for me. I
*always* play human.

My cats were always petty sure that they were superior animals!
I could see it on their faces all the time, mocking me:
"You stupid human!"

Well, now that the word is out that cats have been excluded, I'm
sure the hate mail will start flooding in! Cat lovers everywhere,
unite!

HA! Everyone knows that dreams of a paper-free society are just
that...dreams! Really, I'm sure many of us use more paper than
we did before computers became so common. :P
As for NWN replacing RL pnp sessions, I just don't see it. Doesn't
mean it won't provide hours of neat virtual pnp sessions, but I
just can't see it as being the same...it just can't possibly have
the flexibility that you would find in RL, and there's always
something to be said for getting together, face-to-face with
your friends. :)

Whoa! Those are definitely interesting. I am downloading some stuffs now.
:-) I knew the first one already, but the last two are new (though I have

Yes, :-) I like them. My current one is a replacement. This new one can
set temperature and it's very nice.

That's a lot, and my brother told me he is annoyed by those high pitched
sounds coming from my computer, but I guess I already am used to it..., I
didn't know what he was talking about.

My cat too. When I was shooting my new documentary "Thirty Short Films

Yes, now we go ram the door open with our rickshaws, and dump them all the
hate mails we could load on our 'shaws. That'll teach 'em not to mess with
our kitties!

That sucks. Not that I don't want to see my friends, but it could be a good

Actually, not that I'm aware, although I'm slowly working on something
for it.
Really, it's a nigh-perfect way to do it online. We even have a dice

our creativity juice churn too much to "fill in the blanks." ;-)

As noted elsethread - I realize Mondays aren't ideal, but either monday
afternoonish (or morning) Eastern Time - or Sunday I could run a game.
I've got stuff in my head that'll lay out well enough.
No, it's run via AIM message chats. So if you computer can run AIM, you
can participate - though it does require the up front work of running
you through central casting and then generating a 3rd ed character.
However, right now, it's almost a closed game - it runs once a month
with people I used to play tabletop D&D with.
I might consider running a OnWeyr 3rd Ed D&D game on Mondays - not every
monday, but once or twice a month, if there's sufficent interest. A
dice roller would be useful.
Well, I don't have a 3rd ed. I don't have a PHB at all. I just borrow it
from my friends. Is there some sort of electronic version of generator? I
do my 2nd ed characters on a program.
I do have my NWN manual though. I know it's not entirely faithful, but it
might help, right?
I painted my cat figurine, and he is cute.

Just an addition, you guyz need a druid, right?

Pah, 3e. Until I get a job, I won't be joining anything 3rd Ed. And
there are a few things that top the 3e core books on my Things To Get
list.
@nd Ed, please (for now anyway), FR or custom campaign preferably.
The one I'm working on will be a 2e custom. I have the general plot and
most of the nearby part of the world (the rest, of course, will be
filled in once things begin), but due to RL interruptions, the going is
slow.

Yes, as I mentioned, there is a dice object, made by none other than
Rubyflame, who keeps bugging me to finish the project.

Oh, I have the SECOND Ed's PHB, DMG, *and* MM. Not to mention several
class supplements and the Tome of Magic. Actually, were I to list all my
AD&D stuff, you'd freak. Especially when you consider I can enver get a
group to use them with.
*AND* I have the AD&D Core Rules CD-ROM (version 2.0), plus Expansion.
Thus, I rule.
But until I get an income, 3rd ed is beyond my grasp.
-Lumina Dragon
So basically, we have two people here already to back 2nd edition, so please
vote, people, if you want to join us.

3rd edition, for the most part, is dirt simple for making characters.
And the mechanics are for the most part easy enough to explain - far
less explaining compared to 2nd Ed.
I can run people though character creation, though it can tend to be
slow in places, explain system differences, et al.
Well, if I'm DMing, I can bring anybody up to speed on the differences;
really, the only thing you "need" a PHB for after level one is levelup -
at the levels where you select feats. For Mage types, I can provide the
per level spell lists when neccesary for updating spellbooks, et al.
Two? I see Lumina, twice....
Unless you're the other one...

I'd rather wait until I get at least the PHB sourcebook than try the
patience of the DM with questions.
Trust me. If I had a question about something, I'd ask it.
Just ask any of my teachers down the years.

Noted elsethread: I'd rather bring myself up to speed than spend too
much game time pestering the DM.
YES, I have heard that 3e is much easier to use than 2e, but it's easier
for me to familiarize myself with it from a sourcebook, which won't
complain no matter how many times I need to check any given part of it,
than to do so with the DM.
-Lumina Dragon
Trust me - I've dealt with people worse than you.
You presume upon my personality. ;)
I could be that somebody. When I play D&D, I ask lots of questions. BTW,
sorry, can't make it today, because my eBay auction ended coincidentally
yesterday, and I was busy yesterday for something else. Basically, I don't
want my buyers got pissed off for delayed service.
