You don't need to buy a ship in Trinsic (if that's where you are) just
get the password from the mayor to leave the city and follow the path
North and eventually you'll get to Britain. You'll come into Paws first
though.

Don't use a ship, just walk. No way you have enough cash to buy a ship that
early in the game anyway.
Besides, if you have Forge of Virtue, there is no need to EVER buy a ship,
since Ole Lord British gives you the keys to his.

From what i remember (haven't played U7 in a while)the boat LB gives the
deed to you for is in Vesper, isn't it?. I'd rather save me money up for a
deed to buy a boat in Trinsic or Britain. But its up to you my friend.

How you spend your money is entirely your affair, as a matter of fact I
never used a boat in U7BG at all, I was merely pointing out that there
was a way of getting a getting a boat without stealing (or carrying
pumpkins for 200 years).
