Given the nature of the game, stealing colonists from other players will be
perfectly acceptable on this occasion ;-)
This game will be played with version J RC3, and will be on Autohost with 48
hour turnaround.
Skill level should be advanced+; or experienced SS players. I may need to
see some proof of ability if I don't know your past record.
Here are the game parameters:
Medium
Sparse
Distant
Accel BBS
Slow tech
Clumping
Victory will be last man standing or by agreement of all remaining players.
I'm aiming for 9 to 12 players in this game, but if the number is different
then I will likely alter the size or density in order to keep the number of
planet per player roughly the same.
Email me if you are interested in taking part.
Regards,
Varn

Quit trip-trapping on his bridge. :)

Hey Varn,
Why don't you finish playing the games you already committed to, instead of
wasting more people's time in new games? I haven't seen a new turn in over a
month, in the game you were hosting. What's the matter, dickhead: can't
maintain your self-proclaimed "expert" status if you get your ass kicked by
average players?
>Crappy hosts are a dime-a-dozen.
-- Sean
-- GM Pax
Sure, Varn. But you never answered why you just drop games and don't finish
them. The answer is because you're a crappy host. Quit wasting other
people's time and don't host any more.
I believe you also dropped at least one other game about a month ago with no
warning. Did you ever pick it up again? Irresponsible twit.
Ha ha! Go ahead, Sean. Everyone should have a good laugh at the small-minded
petty little net-cop with no life. At some point, you should realize that no
one gives a crap what you think on the Net, any more than they do in real
life.
>I believe you also dropped at least one other game about a month ago with
no
>warning. Did you ever pick it up again?
Yes I did. In fact, your game is the only one I've hosted which hasn't
reached the point where all other players agreed to end the game. Perhaps
that's because you are too short sighted and inexperienced to realise the
glaringly obvious - i.e that you have already lost. Perhaps you do realise
it, but you just want to finish the game anyway - that's fine, I always show
a player the common courtesy of playing on until they wish to stop. However,
I've decided to make a special exception in your case Bones, because you are
such an obnoxious asshole. Have a nice day, and try not to lose your sense
of humour ;-)
Hardly inevitable, as I had 10 more tech levels than you (and not the
useless bio that you had), and more resources. Although you had more capital
ships, mine were more advanced. Your only advantage was your chicken-shit SD
style of play.
It is typical, of self-proclaimed "experts" like yourself, to unanimously
declare yourself the winner despite me being in first place. You can't bear
to have anything break your self-delusion of godhood. Your arrogance is only
overshadowed by your childish "take your ball and go home" style of playing
games.
Expert... LOL. It's pretty easy to never lose if you continually drop games
you're behind in. What a putz. I hope you feel the same way about never
playing with me again, as I feel about you. You're a loser, and not because
of your position in the game.
We all know you to be a troll and do you seriously think anyone is taking
you seriously, and to top that off you just undermined my statement that we
don't get flame wars in this NG.
I wasn't in that game where you and Varn played so I'm not going to judge on
that case, but don't make an even bigger arsehole of yourself by insulting
varn.
And as for your mention of chicken shit SD style, that's the advantage of
SD, you can fight with minefields. If you don't like that sort of tatic,
then either refuse to play in games with SDs in them or play an SD yourself
and use those tatics against your enemys. And that sort of comment on your
enemys tatics suggests that it was you that where losing, as if you were
winning you wouldn't have a problem with his tatics.
Sorry to have to step in here as mr law enforcement officer, but I can't let
this sort of behavious carry on.
I have my freedom, and even bound and beaten I will still be free,
For I am free because and only because I know I am free,
And even the gods cannot take that from me.

And WTF is wrong with playind an SD-ish defensive game?
Ha, ha, and how would you know how valued or unvalued my opinion was, anywhere,
ha, ha?
If Magma didn't care to do anytihing, their _upstream_ provider might care to,
and so on.
There's _always_ someone higher on the food chain.

Oh, that's civilized. You were complaining about my style of posting?

First of all: why would a "troll" waste 72 turns playing a self-proclaimed
"expert" who doesn't bother to finish playing his games. If you don't
believe me, I can send you my turn files.
Second of all: I don't give a rats ass what you say about flame wars in
r.g.c.s. They happen. I can't help it if you're too ignorant to see them.

I'm insulting Varn because he's an irresponsible ass. If you commit to a
game, you should finish it. Instead, he goes and starts new ones, which he
probably won't finish either.
Maybe Varn would have won; he was in a pretty good posistion. But since I
had a tech and resource lead, and a pretty good fleet of my own, I would
have appreciated him attacking me AT LEAST ONCE before smuggly stopping the
game with no message whatsoever.

I don't have a problem with those tactics. I called them as they are:
chicken-shit tactics. Nothing wrong with that. Do you dispute that my naming
of those sorts of SD-style tactics is innaccurate?

LOL. Oh, sure, what do you plan to do about it, Mr. Net Cop? You must live
in the same deluded world as Sean. I didn't know his ass was big enough for
two people.

No-comment, I wasn't in the game so can't judge on the actual thing in
question

Well, they can also not happen (nudge, nudge).

That's a matter between you and varn - please take it off the NG.

It's what I have come to expect of you, but it's not inacurate, just
insulting to the tatic.

I'm not in the same boat as sean, I see things from a totally different
prospective, as sean well knows. I just dislike big flame wars as it has the
tendancey of bringing down the tone of the NG.
So, please I ask you to either take this to e-mail or if you do have to make
your views public then please be slighly less rude about it.
It's up to you to decide what you will do, but it's up to me what my
responce will be. Please don't make me have to be nasty - I don't like it.
Sean just laughs things off as stupid, I take things apart.

When I receive spam, I report the fact to the spammer's ISP.
If that does not stop the spam, I repeat the report to the spammer's ISP, with a
note, that I will inform InterNIC of that fact, if no action is taken.

Bones isn't a spammer. He's not even a troll.
LOL. Oh, go ahead, big-boy... get medivial on my ass.
Snicker... James nasty? Chuckle... you're one of the biggest wusses on this
group.
Correct. I'm an assh*le, for which I make no apologies. I can't stand morons
or irresponsible twits. I make my views of those people known.
That's because I am the type that spends his time contemplating higher
thoughts and dicussing abstract ideas and practical solutions with people on
a similar level to me. I generally try not to offend people. But will come
down to their level of comunication so that they don't get lost allong the
way.
Now for me to come down to your level, is a long way for me and not somthing
I usually do. But if you insist on carrying on in your tone, you will find
that when I start to get pissed off, and I'm just starting to get mildly
pissed off here, I can be really nasty when I want to be.
So I'm giving you a last chance, (not that I expect you to take it) either
come up (just slightly closer) to my level or I'm going to have to come down
to yours. And that's not going to be a pretty sight.
Then how do you tolerate YOURSELF?

I never accused Bones of being a spammer. I merely stated my actions on
receiving spam, as the thread seemed to be entering the subject of 'How to
Trouble Spammers'. I consider 'Troubling Spammers' a _nice_ thing to do, as
long as it is through _legal_ channels and methods.
BTW, does any of you remember my two postings about 'video shots' of SN (now
SSNG)? I have seen no response from this NG, nor has my friend been able to
supply any useful data.

Hhahaah--I saw your post and half-expected you to deny my allegations. :)
Oh, I'm shakin', James. Please don't hurt me!!!
Simpleton's that feel they have some sort of power... well, at least they
amuse me. Thanks, James.

There are few people who fall into multiple negative categories. Not
surprisingly, you're one of them. However, you're a constant source of
mundane, simple-minded humour; and for that, I thank you.
Covert Operations ain't new..Sid Meier did that ~10 years ago.

Interesting. I have a feeling this will turn the game into a more luck
decided one. Report on NG how it works out?

See, that wasn't so hard? Why do people constantly fail to set up
intellegent settings? (Like these)
