Quake under XP

Hi All,

Im trying to revive a very old and very bad quake habit, but on a machine
running XP. Ive had no joy so far... has anyone got any tips?

don't forget glquake , as long as you have a 3d card
that supports opengl.

Many old games won't run because of sound issues. I don't know if it
will work with Quake but you can try VDMSound. It is a great utililty
that emulates a sound blaster compatible dos card and then pipes it
out whatever sound card you actually have.

It was designed specially for NT, 2000 and XP and has worked
wonderfully on a lot of old games I have.

Do a search on google and it should come right up.

Assuming you still have Quake installed on your old computer, and it has
a CD burner, burn a CD of the Quake folder. Then just copy to your XP
system, saves all your config files, gl files, mods, etc, etc. It's all
self contained in the game folder. Works for Q2 also.
